This happens to me sometimes, the answer imo is to use the reload only for all operations for loading and unloading, then when it happens the balls dump into the reload with your abv. It is annoying to separate the two but not the end of the world. I don't think this happens because of the head...

I run about half 3mm SiC in the top half of the bowl and half of the 2.5mm that came with it in the lower half, seems to increase my time a little when in a cold environment (-10C and lower) nice for hitting when XC skiiing or snow shoeing !

Running mine with a direct tube, back to back and standard metal heatsink I never pause or feel slowed down by the heat. I personally would not stress the heat, will get wood when I order the final kit but thats as much the look as anything else.

I also intend to get it, Love my tempest and think this could be next level.

I have been playing with SiC, seem to work great. I dialed my wand back until 400F and it seems to be about spot on to timeout, Still experimenting but I like it.

Mine looks much the same, 95% wand usage with occasional torch. Part of my tarnish is the wand burning off oil on the tip head in the insert at times. None of this concerns me, just adding the point :)

Agreed on it not needing clean as much, but I have busted through maybe 3 or 4 of the mesh screens. Everyone is different for sure, but just saying that the current screens for me on full bowl would not be a satisfactory end game screen (or I would do as I do now, treat em as disposable).

Ran a piece of cotton through/over the tempest and sandwiched it with herb after, At first I was like 'WOAH this is tasty', after a second go I realized 'no it is just this tastier when clean!' Either way, very effective and enjoyable lazy clean as mentioned earliness!
