most likely your not using non resistance wire to connect to the coil. what could be an issue is when you screw it in, the center pin moves and bends the wire enough to touch the shell of the kiss cart, causing the resistance to change.

not only what @DieHard said but in addition the SR71 you needed to adjust the bottom adapter from time to time, and also when you took it apart to see whats in the bottom chamber means that most likely end up cleaning it before reusing. It is a beast and hardly ever had issues once you get it...

The titanium Kiss carts require less wraps to work. They are not the same as the regular nichrome coils.

Do you have the 3.7v Ti kiss carts?

Is that the sr74x upgrade? If yes that rods to far in pull it out to where you just about to see the second contact strip.
