most likely its the cart thats causing it, do you have another cart?

Remove the batteries and make sure the spring is not collapsed, also make sure the battery wraps are not torn or have any defects what so ever. Does the unit get hot when there is no cartridge attached? Seems like there is a short somewhere.

could be many factors, first being that there might be something thats in the oil thats not suppose to be there. Does the unit get hot? Also side note the new Okeanos manual is up let me know what you guys think.

the sr 74 black rod should read 2.1-2.5 for the white rod, 2.3 is standard. black rod is around .9
