theres your issue, the stock batteries work with the carts not the Hercules. The Hercules requires AW 18350 batteries to work.

Ok for some reason I was thinking the bottom spring of the 8 was collapsing, the 71 adapters should be done shortly.

how is the bottom adapter collapsing the spring? Are you using the circuit board that came with it? That should prevent a collapse of the bottom spring. If that is happening then there is something wrong with your unit.
