    Making Draw Tubes... Flower Quince?

I do a rough cut about 3 passes oversize and let it dry for a couple of days. Overnight is enough, but obviously more dry, better final fit dimension. These stems are holding up nicely. Not splitting or shrinking after two days from green to service. Been almost 2 weeks now and daily use...

    Vape Carts Health Crisis Megathread

I'm afraid you're right, @OldNewbie. Gonna be a wild ride for all of us to be sure.

Easy-breather is also a must. That is why I tend to scale a bubbler on the smaller side. But I do see the bubbler needing to be well incorporated to fit with the 'theme'.

It is as good as any at this point. I like the "Lazy-L" branding.

Oh no, that's a target style. Getting a Disney vibe... cauldrons and things.

A Lazy L :sherlock: That could provide for a handle... One critical design element is the direct 'carb' fed air injection into the chamber.

I like your thinking in 'on-board' power. That does scale things a bit on many levels. I haven't thought about where to host images yet. I think I read you need 50 posts before posting an image and I just reached that. Not looking forward to yet another site to spam the hell out of me. What...

Sweet... indeed, I see the rotation velocity to be quite slow. The idea is more to 'remove the heat before the hot spot develops'. The 'zone' temperature will be elevated. However, the gradient between surface and air temps will be quite high. I too am very curious as to how fast this can...

:) Thank for signing up @Tinkerer . For me this is an idea to put out there. I have every interest in prototyping the rotating crucible concept if the stigma is to be avoided. I do not have the desire to go into any kind of manufacturing or business venture on this. I also have little...

OP here... my ears were burning most of this day. Now I know why :) Thanks @3dfx-glide for your insight into the reason for this post. Indeed, I want to hear why it is a bad idea and I agree that the light bulb as a portable discrete vape is a bad idea as the blog clearly harped on in...

M'eh! I've gone nearly 60 years of putting crap into my body. Worrying about it now will probably kill me faster. Light bulb glass is perfectly safe at the temps we're discussing. The epoxies, aluminum, and brass on the other hand...

Funny thing is, builders are usually lousy dreamers. And I love cherry pie no matter the consequences! Yes, you got it right... I understand the effort that starting a venture such as this can lead to. I did one earlier this year that I already regret having started even though it has brought...

The Chinese SJK Induction Heater and The VapCap

Thanks @Hackerman for posting those again. Very helpful! Am I right in assuming they are using a sensing coil to activate the main heating coil? I expected a much heavier wire gauge and fewer turns for the heating coil. Maybe I should just read the this thread more closely :p

Vap Hot Box - Dynavap Induction Heater

Sorry @Hackerman , I actually meant to stay on subject. One of the things I was looking for on the Vap Hot Box site was information on the heating 'element'. The tech talk focuses on the batteries and the management system. I didn't see much at all about the element or driver. My bad for not...

Me too! LOL I'll definitely post up the proof of concept. After that is the industrial design... not that this term is representative of the end product, but a means to achieve a style within a functional concept. That 'style' part will need a lot of help as I simply didn't get my gray cells...

I have a seriously wild idea...

Prototyping the proof of concept will be easy enough. Taking it forward requires a lot more motivation. A proper rig like this would start closing in on 4 digits. And it has to be a 'conversation piece' in the end.

Vap Hot Box - Dynavap Induction Heater

FETs require cooling. People forget that this is part of the specification... managing junction temperature. Just looked up the JSK. That device alone explains why we need 'style' :) Okay, what kind of induction heaters are inside these units?

Vap Hot Box - Dynavap Induction Heater

If I was to use this type of device I would want 'minimalist'. Place the vape in the heater slot and wait for a 'ding' to say lunch is ready. Somewhere there will be something that says how done you want your lunch. That alone distracts from minimalism and therefore needs a design element...
