    The Magic-Flight Box

So this thread needs an update. @Choices was kind enough to let me update the Vaporesso atomizers. First piece of data I needed was the desired slug size for the negative lead. Slug ID is 7.6-7.7mm if you can hold that. the thickness wants to be 3.4mm minimum where 4mm would be a good...

...and the alumina tube came today. The OD is more like 7.2 to 7.4mm but the ID is 5mm on the nose. That means the 8mm ID tubes I mentioned before should work out of the box. Always worth asking. This one also had a pink stain so queries have been sent on what the heck is a pink dot doing on...

    Making Draw Tubes... Flower Quince?

Me'h missed the window for edit... This is a section polished up a bit to show the full section. I peeled that bark and Phloem layer away and it turns out the Cambium layer is a chalky layer that is also removed. This layer almost glows and is maybe 1/4mm thick. The image does not show the...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Mine isn't really portable yet but I can step outside with it. Still got the remote battery pack but the unit is palm sized. Open frame is an over-statement. But it really is simple if you forgo the electronic switch. I use the coil provided with the unit and I compacted it without trimming...

    Multi-brand Flowermate CAP

I wasn't sure one was coming my way or not but it's here now. I'll do up a proper review this weekend. Hopefully I can figure out how it comes apart. For those that did not get a tracking number, don't give up hope

    Making Draw Tubes... Flower Quince?

Bummer :\ The image is flawed  I think I know how to fix it to some extent. Where I claim "alive" it really should say "new growth" (Cambium). Tap-root 2 heart-wood = obviously dead wrong (poor assumption). The Cambium layer I can easily discern. It is a very specific layer that almost...

    Making Draw Tubes... Flower Quince?

More great stuff. Yesterday someone provided another boot to the head with regard to biology of trees... "The live part of a tree is the bark.". Hmmmm... this has implications up the wazoo. I now understand the radial tracks that become prominent in a polished section of Flowering Quince...

Did anyone give you reason why importing to Canada is being problematic? I now a small package to Canada from US is not bad if you check the weight. A glass stem should be a couple of ounces. They should ship for $10-$15.

You know I'd me machining an 8mm hole in that stem, @stark1  Not that I particularly like a stem like that, still too heavy, but in a collection, it would be drawn through from time to time.

    Making Draw Tubes... Flower Quince?

Hello @Mr. Me2 , welcome to the tread. Flashback is a part of vaping for us old fools. And yes, Texas Jams are something I'd definitely like to remember. I have the ticket stubs so I was there! And not  Something about vaping brings on reminiscing. However, indeed, yes, stems have...

That stem had Rogue's name all over it while it was spinning on the lathe  I don't question higher authority. I hope it brings you many wonderful draws @RogueGuy :bigleaf:

Most excellent information there @snamuh  I avoid petting zoos like a plague. Now I see why

    Making Draw Tubes... Flower Quince?

I'll leave it to the Flowering Quince Spirit that is currently my avatar. I'm just the caretaker. Query: does the Heartwood and the tap-root have anything in common? If so, this could get crazier. Okay, this stuff burns just fine. Turns out you can put a pretty nice burnt patina on this...

Yep, that test will take a more slender stem than the one I made. Maybe on the next turn. The internal stem of the Orbiter doesn't have much clearance.

It's a test I want to conduct. I suspect it will pass with flying colors. The wood is soaking wet when if I turn it fresh. From the MFLB tests, it swells a little and comes back to size. Very easy to discern with the fit of the tube in the LB. That LB stem is going on 5 months old with...

I knew there was a word for that center core. Heartwood! Indeed it is there on every piece unless I happened to core it out. Most of the time it shows up at the mouthpiece due to a cross-drilling. That is that hard bit I was describing a few pages back when hand sanding. It always comes up...

Really? You could have some leaks around your fingerprints perhaps. Generally we pretty much close a carb well with a medium-light press. There are many variations in the air port design and those may just be leaking. I look at my '18-M body and see potential leakers.

    Safely Dispose ISO

Evaporate quickly on a sidewalk or slowly from an open jar, the result is the same, it goes into the air. Still a mild green house gas. The best solution for anything green house gas related is recycle. Unfortunately most people do not use alcohol for stoves anymore. You can use it as you...
