    Vaping in "adult life"

Success is to write your own tomorrow. And they say 70 is a passing grade. These older gray cells of mine appreciate peace and quiet as it is a rare commodity growing scarcer by the moment. Thinking with a clear vision is not over rated. Cannabis is simply an altered state of the same...

    ZipZap

This sounds like fun. Whatcha doin'? 1) Draw resistance sucks [pun intended] 2) Function over vanity. 3) Not a fan of Ti but okay, it is lighter weight. 4) Think modular/optional -Lego 5) Indicators are all relative. I think the vape-world has locked into 120'C-240'C as a common range. 6) No...

I'm running an Emco Unimat 3 mini-lathe. Never though they'd just press that but I can see it being viable. The high spot has a dent next to it so I figured it was a fixture of some kind. The error is very subtle.

VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

I like those switches. Makes it very pocketable. Does it have a current rating printed on it somewhere? You need at least 10A capability. It appears that the two-fet version is a single fet driving the other fet. The link is similar but the drive fet is smaller. I know that@pipes uses the...

    One pull portable?

What if I told you I can now finish a vapcap in one pull using an IH? That's what a TM should feel like. And if you have delicate lungs, then you might be a little careful for what you wish for. I have no doubt that you can dial the TM in perfectly to your taste. No draw strain and more...

It was indeed a tooling issue. Probably the chuck when they cut the x-ring grooves. But it seems to be persistent and pervasive. Me? I'd find the high spot and work it with a diamond file or a Dremel cutoff wheel to do some careful reduction. Graphite [pencil lead] is a decent medium to...

VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

Now that last question was spot on. And that is why the formula. If I wanted to sink say 4 volts. And I know my current draw will be in the range of 6 amps. That means I will be sinking 24 watts by multiplying the voltage lost across the resistor is 4 volts and multiplying that by 6 amps to...

VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

Lifespan - These should last forever. I was saying that I never used anything but an IH. I also don't see a lifetime limit. Bullet proof is a good thing. One day I'll print a case. Without it I just have to be careful about holding keys and the IH in the same hand. And yes, a boost/buck...

There is a small high spot. Maybe use a marker and let the MP scrape the marker to show where it is. Then you might be able to peen or grind the high spot into conformance.

Someone screwed up in the shop. There seems to be a lot of Ti XL condensers out there that have a defect at the mouthpiece end. Getting it round again is the only hope. I noticed mine was like that when I made the Quince MP.

Thanks for spelling all that out @Planck . That settles silver as that would just paste all the vape on its walls. This discussion sure has unlocked a few ways of looking at things. 1) Continued heating during the draw  I've cut the number of heatings to 1 or 2 and getting FULL...

VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

Yea, just caught that. Looked like raw herb before the video focused. Also known from days gone by as 'trickle charging'. I have a limited output voltage source that the batteries are balancing to. There is a 5 watt resistor [5 ohm] that makes up the difference between the pack voltage and...

VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

No need to say 'Hey Boomer!' cause I is one too. I will admit I never liked having to dismount my cells so as a DIY hobby pack, I don't have an issue with BMS. I did at least check the charging circuit to know it put out 4.2v to each cell. That is easy enough. I also know I can keep my...
