I don't think the battery is user-replaceable, it looks a lot like a v1 omicron with a built-in charger. Is it a true passthrough (can you use it and charge the battery at the same time) or does it drain the battery if you use it while it's charging?

A way to determine if it is the cart or the wax is to compare the cart with another 5 ohm cart. Hold the button down for the same amount of time on both and see if the new one gets significantly hotter. It's possible the heater shorted itself and the cart is really a lower ohm than it should be...

THC can give you a ballpark figure but I think it was something like 400 few second hits per gram. Also, maybe he was talking about the different ohm carts, I haven't been able to find any 1.5 or 5 ohm carts in Harborside or Elemental yet...

Try switching the batteries around, maybe one contact is longer than the other. The odds that you got two defective batteries at the same time while no one else has had an issue is really small. EDIT: How much does the middle contact stick out of your Persei top? And the double top?
