Wow, that's a lot! I stand corrected. He did tweak that circuit nicely.

I don't know what the input rating of the Apollo II is. But they do work with battery packs. Just got to know the voltage limit. If they feed 12v into this, it will work with a portable battery pack too. Current ratings will have to be matched but I suspect it is pretty reasonable. IH's...

I got the shipping notification a couple of days ago. Waiting. I ordered at the start of the sale.

Thanks for posting that @VegNVape - definitely will be short lived stock. There you go @junny89 - hit up vapewellness for an Apollo II while they last. @rvarick - I wonder if the flat faces are pulled too far away from the cap to get equivalent convection from the cap to the tip. Are you...

There is a mag heater and there is a fluxer. Then there is the Apollo II sanctioned by Dynavap. There is also a cute little cubical one coming out soon. Of course the Port Side Mini is a local favorite also. As features go, I prefer a separate switch rather than 'push the VC to activate'...

You'll have fun in the bits&pieces thread :D For the cost of one artisan IH, I have a whole box of DIY goodies and two fully functional IH's. And I still have enough left over for a nice meal out - when we can do that again. Maybe I'll buy some more bits&pieces  Oh yea - $25 IH...

VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

Thank you all for the excellent links  I didn't realize how many flavors there were of this converter. Depending on the input voltage, the current level will be from as low as 4 amps to up to 8 amps. This is all dependent on the coil's coupling with the VC and the amount of voltage...

If you got the skills, definitely make your own IH. Follow it up with an order on a wait list if this is interim. We have a pretty good thread going on IH's here - http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapcap-diy-induction-heating-bits-n-pieces.33216/page-14#post-1464957 So the digger-outer spot...

VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

I am finally running the boost/buck meter as a battery charger. I have the 3s with BMS charging at a 1/2 amp. Not sure how to get the constant current to kick on the light. However, it is running in what appears to be a CC mode. I've become a little more familiar with the controls and...

I think I'd like to receive mine :spliff: Finding the '19 breathes a little better than '18 out of the box. Once customized, I'd say they were the same. But the clickers are worlds apart. the '18 has perfect zones between clicks. The '19 goes "crrrrlick -- CLICK!" in short succession...

Laser would definitely work. In order to put a nice straight twist in a piece like that, it needs to be under tension. I don't quite have the tools needed to maintain a good cylindrical profile. It's worth the $20 once they are available again. Shipping out of Canada - not so much. I know...

I have a really nice glass 'Bong of Old' that could easily be converted to a vape rig since it has a 19mm fitting. It has a chip in the receiver and it ruined it for me. Still works a charm though.

If you want a hot IH, then yes. 16 gauge all the way. If you want a slightly tamed IH, which I recommend, trim the cable short and use the connector. You can measure the loss by putting a volt meter on both ends of the wire while drawing a significant load. Line losses are normal but do know...

@junny89 - My '19-M cap clicks like yours apparently. Mine is a hugely delayed first click. It finally comes on as a kind of subdued CRLICK with an almost immediate CLICK! Not a real issue. The final click is well pronounced and that's the one that matters to me. I have to ask though; are...

Sweet, the Mosfet switches got here already. I need to set up some tests with these. I want to see if I can vary the output of these switches by reducing the gate voltage. If that doesn't work, I'll see if PWM is compatible with ZVS circuits. I need to figure out gate current to know what it...

130 degrees centigrade versus 200 degree centigrade epoxy coating on the wire. The golden tint versus the red tint of the insulation. Watching water boil. That's pretty much how waiting for is stuff to me. What's worse is when you get it and it isn't what you ordered. That sets off a...
