VapCap DIY Induction Heating : Bits 'n' pieces

Well now, my 2 ZVS units and the converter w/ remote knob have hit stateside and cleared customs. Got Fet switches and 14 & 15 gauge magnet wire on hand. And the '20 cap and tip has thrown me for a loop. Looking forward to feedback from the IH community to see if they experience what they...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I don't know about that @Pipes . You've done some pretty incredible things like making some stellar products and a huge devoted following. That's pretty much impossible for most of us. My eBay DIY collection is seriously suffering international deliveries. Don't know what's...

    Induction Heater - 2020 offerings?

Very interested to hear them all. I like your desktop session master already. Join us in the other thread and see what you can cook up with your ideas. Ideas are still free I think. :uhoh:

    Induction Heater - 2020 offerings?

I hope not. But I will have some extra bits at some point. I thought about the switch thing and find one comfort - you can wire another switch in parallel with the coil-switch. That makes it an "either-or [-or-]" function. What are your other preferences in an IH?

    Induction Heater - 2020 offerings?

You can connect an LED anywhere in the circuit you want to sense being energized. There is a little balance to play with voltage and current but generally a very forgiving circuit. There's a bit & pieces thread for IH if you'd like to explore some things and not derail this thread if you like...

@notams - This study actually comes from a couple of days ago when @junny89 mentioned a long heatup time for his new M using a torch. It had me curious since then. I am glad it is entertaining and for the most part, that is really why it is here. For a few others, this may actually mean...

Love the comparison. Couldn't think of a better one. Coffee and weed are so much alike in this sense. It only took me a week to realize that this game had nothing on one-size-fits-all. It makes it a very difficult crowd to please too. Thanks for that great insight @notams . New findings -...

    Induction Heater - 2020 offerings?

The kit is very tempting as everything is there and convenient. Certainly worth looking at. We'd talked about this one briefly when it came up on eBay. I noticed the momentary switch so they are using the switch in the bottom of the coil.

Maybe I have an exceptionally well flowing '19 :brow: No complaints on that one. I did note in my earlier mini-review that the CCD is now flat on the bottom of the '20 tip. This does improve air-flow with the load in place for sure. I am comparing flow without the load. The adjustable bowl...

Mine is flowing well @vandalizedbythelotus . I would say as well as the '19 but not improved. The restriction is at the crimp in the cap. I can change the back pressure slightly by pushing on the cap a little so that is where variation should reside.

'20 Micro-Air-Ports :2c: I know, it's been done. Just showing how clean the bore of the '20-M is. No problem making fine adjustments without it moving all over the place :brow:

I do. Definitely different. It doesn't draw. Worse than my '18-M original. Clicker is a one-click old style that sometimes clicks twice randomly. And a Karma vape engraved '18 stem.

Now I can talk about the '20-M! First comment - that is not just an adjustable CCD, it is an infinitely adjustable bowl. George took heed at the bottom of the bowl as well as the CCD sits nearly flat. It appears the bore for the CCD on the'18 & '19 was 5/16" and is slightly bigger for the...

@notams - I like that beanbag debowler. I park a lot of paraphernalia next to me on the couch while locked to this screen. Debowling always made me put the computer aside and use the table. Never really thought about scaling that up tray up a bit. Makes perfect sense. Thanks

Maybe not. So where do I ask about whether or not vape honey would support a culture if sufficient moisture was present? ...now that the subject has been broached in the context of the VC of course. Blowing out that 'spitball' onto the porch and watching it splat has always been the finale...
