The Herc is the BEAST you seek. BUT the learning curve is steep for some. If you do buy one, be sure to take it apart, watch "G"s videos, put it back together. Lather, rinse, repeat. The more familiar you are with the Herc, it's parts, and how they go together, the better your experience...

@Tstat You can also place your stuff of parchment paper after your initial scrape. I use this method. If I want it thinner, I will fold it into a large piece of parchment, then gently warm until pliable then use a full can of soda like a rolling pin. Roll t out to the desired thickness.

I think that it was mentioned that the paint in the logo MIGHT have lead or cadmium. So don't lick the logo.:p It was discussed many pages back that someone soaked the piece in Simple Green (non-toxic) for an extended time and the logo came off. Then just clean and rinse and voila.

I do.:wave: I have better results with it dry. Bigger clouds than using it on a water tool. If you put too much on it or draw too fast, it overpowers the heating element. Mainly because of the lack of mass to hold heat.

This is not a coil. It has a thin foil heating element. It is definitely not for Cloud Chasers.

Have you checked the rod with a meter outside of the Herc Assembly?

The ones I have (from ebay, probably China) do not smell funny. They don't leave any residue. BUT. The color lightens to nearly white when thin parts are pinched.

@lockie The KISS Globe is essentially the same as the KISS cart as far as rebuilding. But it is slightly easier with the Globe coils. Check my sig for rebuild photo tutorial.
