DD - '18 is by far the hottest. I haven't swapped over to the Ti tip yet but probably will soon. I'll still use the '18 cap though. Very reliable clicker.

I am making them to determine usability aspects. I don't have a lot to work with but I have the right bits to experiment. I am also on no clock so this is easy. I remedy VAS with DIY. Impetus was a VC on the way and having zero desire to put a torch against it. Ordered a module from eBay...

There is such a thing as 'cold welding' but hadn't associated that with glass. Basically the blue balls are molecularity welding themselves together. Electrons start to mingle and the next thing you know, clusterfuck!

Another DIY Lives! "4 of 10" ...of 4 is viable. Added a 9T dense 12 gauge winding. Pretty 'hot' little unit. 75 watts firing range and popping off at around 5-6 seconds. And that's with some serious losses. Seems the coil runs cooler when the VC is inserted. Freewheeling it get warmer...

It's sad that this thread is doomed to extinction. It has been a great journey. One I will revisit from time to time as the mood strikes me. I did learn one thing as the seasons change. The moisture these shrubs maintain is seasonal. The wood was nearly dry and quite stable in early spring...
