I'm not sure what you mean exactly by an ice catcher - other than a tube with ice pinches? I've never seen a bubbler that can be equipped for ice. I sit my bubbler in an ice bucket (just a little tupperware container), which keeps the glass and water very cold. I don't know how that compares...

I do that. It's very simple. After blowing the bag I simply remove the elbow screen and then fit the elbow into my bubbler's GonG joint. This will work with any piece with an 18/19 female joint, or if your piece is a 14mm, with an adapter. I suggest you try dropping the temp to 180C. Do...

Neither HT has flush contact with the steel surface (unless you mean the tiny contact at the rim of the ELB?). I would expect the SGW joint to have a small but, as a practical matter, inconsequential warming effect on the HT's water. It will probably depend on how high you set the Cloud's temp...

Thanks, gents! I am, unfortunately, one of those with extra sensitivity to dryness and heat. I'll take any bonus I can get - so if the ice effectively adds even a small amount of cooling without any real sacrifice, that's great. I can't wait!

So call me stupid, but is the "motherfucking ICE" something special or is it just . . . ice? And assuming the latter, comments from other new Cloud owners? With other pieces at least, there's always the consideration of some condensation on the ice and vapor loss. I have a piece that holds 4-6...
