Another argument for having a car charge cord handy! That way you can call Uber and have them drive you around as you recharge your Solo....... OF

I agree, pulling the bowl apart is probably what caused this problem. Did you try it first? I suspect it was fine at that point (most if not all guys who flooded their Solos didn't kill them?). If it's a bead thermistor (which I suspect?) or a TC it would need to have 'tight coupling'...

Beats me, but I bet it's not the original problem. Did it crash a few seconds into heating before? I think we now have a real fault, I don't think the water really caused any problems...... Lots of guys have had water accidents, did anyone actually kill theirs that way? Water won't hurt...

I agree. The steps were fine, no need for 'improvement', really. But we 'demanded it', so there it is? I drive my Solo II outside 'blind' mostly. It comes up set for 390F (since that's what I ran last) which I simply select after it boots up. I have to move into deep shade to read the...

I like the Pico Matt recommends/uses in his videos. Likewise I think the VTC Mini is a good call, also a single cell unit. With the Mini you can also run the 'myEvic' software upgrade (easy enough to load using the program on the Joytech site. This gives you more options (and lines) on the...

Gentle Friends, Another cleaning idea for your consideration, "Magic Eraser"? https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Clean-Eraser-Cleaning-8-Count/dp/B001339ZMW/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1518836860&sr=8-3-spons&keywords=magic+eraser&psc=1 These are Melamine (an industrial glue) foam pads, much like soft...

    The Magic-Flight Box

Have you tried? I have, and I found just what RB did. The current demand on MFLB is so far out of specifications for Alkalines, too much internal resistance to deliver the FIFTEEN AMPS needed. Only a few very high performance NIMH models are up to this. D cell alkalines are marginal at this...

Earlier today apparently someone hacked my account and said: Something didn't seem quite right about that so after it nagging me for a while I decided to see what was up. Here's 3 runs from my Cuboid and an empty cup (I repeated the first test after the last one, that is did a fourth run, to...

Yer welcome for sure, from my end that's the whole idea, right? We all faced this as this exciting product developed. We got it in stages and for the most part were blazing new trails......collectively we had a lot to learn and some bad ideas to get past. Not fair to call it a 'learning...

Yes, on all the TCR mods I have (or know about?) you have m1, m2 and m3 settings on the menu with the others (pass through, VW, Ni, and so on). Each of them lets you set a different value. You can, for instance, set m2 at what you think you want, m1 say 10% lower, m3 10% higher making...

No, not really. TCR is a technique, the mod always in TCR mode (controlling heating by changes in resistance). The 'm' value is a specific measurement of that change. It varies with materials. In the manual case you input the m value (change ratio in PPM per degree C) in other modes (like...

Sorry you're having troubles. I suggest you stop and try to recover from earlier attempts. Critical to that is getting the two small screws out so you can remove the heaters from the bowl so you can torch it clean again. There are videos showing both these processes in this thread. The...

Very well said. It does 'mean a lot'. How sad that this makes him such a standout, that is too bad such support isn't commonplace, but let us celebrate it where we find it. And support it. And hope the idea spreads? For sure we should hope Matt survives the setback and costs and thrives in...

Outstanding! That first (unexpected) improvement removes several contact points, and with them their unreliability. In practice, no contact is as good as a solid conductor of the same cross sectional area since there are tiny, atomic level, flaws on the surfaces not in the bulk material...

First off, howdy, welcome to the Forum and all the fun. Let me be the first to warn you not to let @ataxian near your glass, he breaks stuff....... Error 5 is a popular topic here. If you enter "Error 5" our primitive (and not easy to use......) search function lists near a hundred times it's...

Wow! That's sure much removed from my use. I sip away without a serious chance of blowing anything anywhere but up the spout as vapor. But I can see how, if a guy blew enough air down the slanted tube with more in the pot it could get festive. IMO this, the ability to suit well a wide...

My hero! Enjoy the reading, good stuff there. First issue is you need a lot of power, you might need a new/more capable mod? IMO "75 Watt" units are marginal when we need 50 or more Watts for much longer than the e-cig ever do. In single cell mods (like say the Mini or Pico) you're...

I've been enjoying my QQ quite a bit now that the flu has gone somewhere else..... I'm sure others use it differently, going for clouds and all, but I'm finding it a treat if there's something tasty to feed it. Which means I've been digging through the 'leftovers' I'd stashed away for just...
