That is why I asked about an enclosed bottom ( like a test tube ), with the air holes an inch above the bottom , I like the narrowing part near the top . or a 2 piece stem , that can be detached . If not , let's make one !!! Why can't we do oils/budda in the Solo ? ( sans herb )

Smart Move ; If you bought a Solo .:2c: Just had a thought ; The Ascent supposedly has these ' oil cans ' ( BTW it's made of glass ) , that can allow you to do oils/budda . Why can't Arizer or PV come up with a modified stem for doing oils/budda ??? My design would be like your conventional...

hey unpro1 , Some other factors ; You may want to insert a screen in the glass stem before loading your herb . ( not a must ) Make sure the stem is all the way in , so you can't see your herbs . The new glass can be a tight fit at first . Let the herbs cook for a minute before first hit . ime...

ONJ thanks about the power outage comment since we are coming into the power outage season, I will try to remember not to charge overnight. Use a Power Bar with Surge Cut-off . The ones they recommend for your PC and laptops . What's with the charger/resetting issues with the newer models ...

You can't Over-charge the Solo . ime I've left mine to charge as I slept . And it def. has been fully charged way before I wake up . I've done it since I got it last year 07/2012 .

Just to add ; For all my glassware joints and adapters , I use something called ' Bee's wax ' or ' Joint wax ' as it is named at my LHS . It's all natural and safe to use , and it will def. save you $$$ on replacements .

DO NOT pre-oxidize your carts . DO NOT check for the glowing red light inside the cart BEFORE loading . I'd killed 2 carts doing this .

Just reminded me of the dry cleaners in ' Seinfeld ' . I used the o-rings to attach it to my mini bubbler and gives it a better seal around the down stem . I will " Try " to post some pics later ...if I remember how ...:ugh:
