Sounds to me like your contacts are dirty. With an ISO soaked qtip run around the male and female threads on the battery cap. The qtip will turn grey. Clean the contact point on the bottom of the cap, clean the cells paying particular attention to the negative end, and finally with a pencil...

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I never use my short stem. I am a high temp user and I also find the short stem a little hot at the end of a session. I'll happily swap my short for someone's long tbh.

Just to reassure and reiterate. Your patience will reward you. This vape is sublime to use. All the stress you feel now will be swaged by a couple of days with the TM and soon be forgotten. In the mean time smoke a joint if you need to! PLUR
