Inspired by @paytonpenn , my new stem set up is giving me GREAT results. Hold button until the heater is red, insert stem and draw. Pretty good clouds i must say! Really made a difference!

Sorry, I should have said, what separates the heater and the herb? The spiral slug? Also, pardon my ignorance, but When you say above and below I can't visualize what you mean. Would below = clicker side and above = the mouthpiece side?

A little piece of tubing will work in a pinch, I believe. Edit: 18mm or 14mm?

I too get a slight smell (warm plastic) when I first turn on my unit but as soon as the first little heater cycle runs, it seems to go away. Odd.
