    Making Draw Tubes... Flower Quince?

Oh @stark1 - still not. This year I am working with the 'medicine sticks' and they are only about 4" long. My wife 'cures' them and they 'cure' her.

Now that I've accepted the '19 tip and cap into the rotation, the combo needed a bit longer stem. This 4" soft taper slender piece should do the trick for the longer -sustained- draws. I don't know what it is about this wood, it just washes out in pictures when using sunlight.

Omni is a beast of its own. I have no problem with metered air which is what makes the Omni special. Vortex is a means to a longer air path. I'm all for a normally-closed air port. No need to find it but when you need it, you'll have found it while drawing. Use it just to clear the stem or...

That's Air Port... Not AirPort - George and the DV team LOL Mouth Port Tip Port Air Port Port of course being short for portal or station by function. My biggest peeve in this society is people inventing new names for old definitions. Us Boomers are set in our ways -and- our words. It's a...

There is no guarantee either will come through. I just got the best SpeedPak offer I could get so by end Sept'20, I should have at least 1 more module in hand.

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I tried that :D The max magnetic field is dead-center of the coil and that is where I want my bowl. The click is surprisingly proportionate to all coil configurations to make this a good baseline. Its a visual reference. When the clicker is actuated by the VC, where is it relative to the...

You got an XL condenser? Put that in the '20 and hit that hard as you are doing. It'll be thicker even with the '20 SS tip. Not omni like but adding the express hard draw -will- make a difference. You might be able to relax that HARD draw by 15-20% ...and if nothing else, it keeps the tip's...

Heads up; the world ZVS mini modules shortage seem to be at a glut again. I've got two coming by different routes for $15 w/ speedpak.

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

@thunderstealer1337 - I might suggest adjusting the center of the tip's bowl to where the center of the coil is as a baseline? At some point you just start storing heat in the cooling fins. That makes for a very crusty bore just past the CCD. The switch shim vs. the coil position; mix and...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Thanks for the confirmation @Pipes - Keep up the excellent worx! Good thing is HalfPint's FETs stay cool with the 50uh center-tapped inductor. That tells me that the LC circuit can be scaled to 50% without stressing the FETs but an imbalance in the scaling favoring the inductor...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

Thank you. Indeed I took this a bit further and I fully appreciate the balancing of the circuit. That is why I stuck with near original length and gauge [12awg]. The over-wind was more a freebie to add the additional length and therefore the efficiency, although correct, is a tuning shortcut...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

The more I read through this thread the more I realize what I've missed being a late adopter to vaping. @Pipes - what conclusion did you come to with regard to this approach to coil management... the over-wind I mean?

@GoldenBud - your buddy is correct if you do this; XL condenser in a standard stem. This forces air through the cooling fin region. If you mate it with a Ti tip instead of a stainless tip, the air port would not function as well because it will act like an Omni set at half or so. Lego-Vapes

NFC Induction Heaters - What's available?

That image just flowed out of a few simple parameters in a parametric CAD sketch. I've spun an entire philosophy around it in my more elevated moments. Don't feel alone brother. Hey, I finally have something to engrave on the A'20! ..... not!

This is on the menu for consideration. This is a very sleek little inverter and back-light optional meter. It is boost and buck converter so it does regulate voltage to the IH. No more sag. It happens to be about the size of the meter so adding a pack to this is simple, or a brick for that...

I have no doubt an Omni would be an improvement. I got the SS tips whistling... no problem breathing anymore. Even the '19 with the reversed SS CCD is kicking good clouds. I am perfectly content with either of these. It is the '20 in particular that things went the wrong way for my tastes...
