Thanks, all! There is no question that sandwiching wax in a standard bullet is far more effective than the FMJ (although I do think the taste was more pronounced with the FMJ). Plenty of clouds and taste and not nearly as harsh as flower, despite the higher heat. You all rock.

I've been converted to using a bit of cotton to block the top. Works great, prevents spills, keeps things clean. The cotton does sometimes stick to the screen, but not badly.

Interesting. It does start a bit sweet but it finishes drier than many double and triple IPA's I've had. With the malt required, you should find sweetness somewhere.
