This is true. There is a bit of an intimidation factor but once you get past that, it's pretty simple and amazing.

I think the mica has given me more consistent results and I seem to reliably go through a load more quickly. Given my experience with both, I would opt for the mica. Plus, I was putting a pretty serious char on the basic and it was driving me crazy.
