    Discontinued The Grasshopper

@BuzzDanklin @baltik @midgetsanchez Can't seem to find it answered anywhere, how does the Grasshopper let you know it's finished charging?

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Other people have supposed that a nitecore would work. Grasshopper also recommended a specific charger to the holiday backers who opted to get their hopper without a charger, the link to it was posted late in the old Grasshopper thread, I don't remember what kind it was. The Grasshopper battery...

It gets up to 350 degrees on the outside? That's extreme.

It does seem like a weird explanation, but, at the same time...If it was something else, and it was so easy to burn off, wouldn't they just do that to avoid the skepticism? Maybe I'm just too optimistic, which in itself seems unlikely, but I don't see why they would leave something on there if...

No, I don't, but I also am not going to be able to be touching the heating element and leaving skin oil residue on it.

Have your "off-gassing" problems subsided fully? How about the hot metal smell?

Yeah, it's their own design. I think other people have said that their sizing in particular is kind of unique. And I would imagine using non-brand batteries could be the kind of thing that would void your warranty. Edit: I believe reports so far say it works well with any amount.

I'm pretty sure the battery is a 3.7V 750mAh li-ion and I believe Buzz said .3 grams is about max packed.

Well, we know just from the placement of the LEDs that air passes over them before it enters the heater...who knows about wires...I imagine once they're released fully someone will open one up and take a look.

@baltik So, now that you've done your burn-ins, is it performing like you would expect?

    I think it means...stop asking questions, it's a secret.

That's really interesting, I've never heard of running ethernet through your electric supply. I live in a rural area and I guess we haven't discovered such things, yet. I'm really intrigued by the whole idea though, I'm gonna read through that wiki page at some point

Well, I guess I never actually saw anything that said that there were NO wires, just that it communicates through the metal pieces of the body to cut down on wires. I think I maybe saw something that said it was like, 95% metal or something similar

Yeah I'm not sure how the math on that(or much of anything) works, but it still seems impressive to me. And then you have to consider that the Crafty and Mighty take, I think, around 90 seconds to heat, compared to the 5 seconds of the Grasshopper. That seems almost impossibly efficient to me...

It does seem so amazing that they figured out how to make something as powerful as the Mighty which is probably considered to be the most heavy duty portable vape out there in such a small package. Potentially even more powerful, since we know the heater maxes out at 45 watts and I've never...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I wish it was possible to know more about the way the Grasshopper works. I'm not technically inclined enough to really understand it, I'm sure, but. The way it transmits electronic signals, without wires, through the body of the vape...I've never heard of anything that did that before. I'm...
