The heater in a evo gets over 1000 degrees. I can't imagine there not being a smell. A simple workaround would be to put a length of tubing into the intake to extend it further away from the cloud.
How is the lingering odor with the herbie? I usually vape in a tool shed but I'm thinking I could get away with using this in my bathroom with the exhaust fan on?
I can't post these sorts of videos to my Facebook but I bet the video I post here tomorrow would be a contender. :D Good luck to those that do take part!
I also keep my cloud in a outdoor shed. No problem with a cold or frozen tube unless it's so frozen no air can flow through it which does happen occasionally.
Call me crazy but I've been using the same elbs since april 2012. Thousands of uses and not a single one of them has come apart. I have noticed the newer ones aren't quite as high quality but I've not had any of those fail either.
Overpacking a elb can also cause combustion. It restricts the flow of air through the herb allowing it to get hotter than normal at the base of the elb. It happened to me last evening for the first time in a few weeks. I saw it happen and said f-it and sucked it down. lol
If I had no vaporizer I would really consider it as my first but since I have several really good ones I'm willing to be patient. As good as it is I'm sure once they get feedback from hundreds/thousands of users they will think of some improvements.
All I can say it give it time and learn it's nuances. I had some big complaints when I first got mine but am now using it exclusively over my original ticker unit which I consider the gold standard.
