The fab part comes down to roughly the same level as the mothership straight fab which it is copied from. Also echoing that the double matrix ashcatcher is a waste of time as is any ashcatcher which bubbles too much (such as fritted ashcatchers).

I have the gb-186 not the fc-186 but I can definitely fill to the top of the perc and not get water in my mouth. However, I find the flavour is better if you fill to halfway up the top matrix perc.

@MGG your water level is way too low. You need to have it to the bottom of the funnel basically. I bought mine a while ago from laubinyo or however you spell it and mine also fires from multiple holes. You might only be firing from 1 hole because there isn't enough water to make it to the other...
