Yeah that puck. I just plug right into it after it's already screwed onto the unit and on at the socket. Gets the flishy flashy light show before settling to previous temp/colour.

I always just plug my AC into my puck when I've already turned it on at the mains. Turns off just fine from buttons though. I'll check your way tomorrow.

I hope some people haven't just convinced themselves they have faulty units. Then again a drop in performance of a device that performs so very well is sure to be really very obviously noticeable.
