After reading this I'm pretty much convinced that they have turned the heat levels down on the PNP to stop the mouthpiece breakage. Because my unit acts the same way. There is no amount of time I could wait to get visable vapor on setting 1.

I honestly think it's mostly based on strain whether it will shatter or wax. But it seems shatter takes longer to purge? It ended up making this but it was purging for like 5 hours. But I made this in like 20 mins same heat same process

You do realize your not supposed to hit it right away right? Your suppose to let the nail cool a little(not glowing red is at least a good indicator) and then hit it. I get just as tasty hits off my nail as I do off my da Buddha nail kit and I know that is at vaporization temp.

Well I was using that lighter that @jojo0420 linked and it made a loud pop noise and now it doesn't work. I guess my expensive purchase of the vector lighter wasn't so bad after all.

When I read that I read nothing wrong? Red doesn't always mean it's heating up just adjusting itself to the correct temp. Edit: nevermind I seems everyone answered this already lol

No most likely the pop flash your taking about is just kief escaping the elb and burning it when it gets to close to the heater.
