@farscaper having researched this in slow motion video, I find that carb capping makes the oil thin and spread out over a large portion of the available surface area on the nail. While heat retention/reflection and airflow restriction all play a part in assisting vaporization (re: carb capping)...

I've always suggested (for water) people start at 6.5 and adjust to taste. @Tweak I've left my Nano on at 8+ overnight before (not in purpose). No issues ever... although I'm usually good about putting it back at 5 for the evening.
