Yes, the new version can be replaced by the user, but you'd need to contact Vapman to purchase it. Though, Rene (the inventor) did say that the gold plating was more for aesthetics, than practical use. So there's no loss in efficiency without the gold.

Don't you have a Vapman? Concentrates work well in that. Ok, it's not a "true" dab but it works well with the sieve - and they (the sieves) are relatively cheap ($8-$10) and are pretty easy to clean.
