Seems reasonable to expect lighter colored abv than that from a low temp cap. Perhaps contact DV customer service to let them know and see if they can help you out.

Funny you should mention that...I've been pre warming the tip and cap with my IH before I load it. Then it's a half pack one hit wonder. How differently does your cut down tip perform compared to the standard one half filled?

I second what Rusty said. Top job TD! One of the "features" I really enjoy about the wand with no insert, is how it can be used like a torch. Adjusting the temperature of the click is as easy as heating lower or higher on the cap. Can respect the click and still get that scorched vapor...

They are definitely $79 on their website. Keeping up with inflationary pressures maybe?
