I run my temps below scorching and clean up with one(both ends) qtip. For hotter dabs I can see how the sic might be better for cleanup. No clip, just gravity. Just installed it, no modifications. The nut only screws on half way as the quartz dish is taller then the sic.

Much better resolution. The plug for the old gauge is M12 1.0 pitch threads. You have to taper Teflon tape to seal the plug as they are not pipe threads.
