Log vape resistors - My DIY Log Vape

lazylathe - You have been discovering the same things I have found. The resistor is really what is doing most of the air heating. The less metal you have the better. Thermal mass is important when using glass as the heating source since it can't hold as much as metal. I have gone to the least...

    Vaping with cotton

Glad to see other getting good results from using the cotton/hemp filters. I have started to use the hemp fiber a little differently with concentrates. I was just wrapping the concentrate in the fiber to roast it. The material had to melt and then soak into the fiber. It wasn't always easy to...

    The HI

Had a great time in California. It was very nice there, but I had to drive through a blizzard in Wyoming and brave freezing temperatures car camping in Nevada. Back to turning wood, glass, stainless, and silicone. Interesting idea for a tube design mvapes. I'm wondering if it might be easier to...

Dafni - I don't spend as much time on here as I should. No worries, I will keep making HI's for as long as I can. If they strike me down, I will become more powerful than they can possibly imagine. Thanks Mom. You are so correct. Dr. P - Glad to hear you are enjoying your HI. Keep up the JedHI...

    Mini-VVPS (Community Input Requested!)

Sorry to hear about your job CentiZen. I lost mine the same way. We wouldn't have the TT or HI if I hadn't lost my job. Hopefully, it will be a good thing in the long run.

Ed - It is pretty amazing how thin you can get the wood with the new design. That was some wood I could have never used before. I just use a little WD40 for coolant on certain operations. I try to keep the metal machining to a minimum. Have been turning more wood, glass, and silicone on my...

    The Amazing Vapor Lung!!!

Just made a VL from a 3 liter apple juice bottle. Almost can't finish it. Takes pretty much my entire breath. Just killer. Would love to see a 5 gallon bottle Vapor Lung some day. Will take the GTV and a few bowls to fill it.

It just depends upon the plug for the VVPS. Was thinking it would be nice if there was an adapter that would go from 1/4" mono plug to a 2.1mm x 5.5mm plug. Then I could just use a DC extension cord of any length and it would be easy to replace if the cable gets damaged. So I soldered a 2.1mm x...

    Vaping with cotton

I have always wondered about percolating the vapor through a solvent but had thought it might be a fire hazard. The coconut oil would certainly be a safer way to go. The coconut oil that I have is completely liquid at around 80F so it should work fine. The oil has no taste so I can't imagine...

Thanks mom, al bundy, vapinghole, and jeppy. Glad I was able to make something of that piece of wood. sundrk - I have thought about maybe a silicone sleeve where it goes through the wood. The black insulation is covering red and white insulated wires. The black insulation is already providing...

I was AWOL for a little while last weekend. Took a 3000 mile road trip to a top spinning festival. Sorry for taking time away from making HI's. Was nice to see some old friends and spin some tops. mvapes - Thanks for the great videos. I enjoyed the U-Tube on Youtube. Did you realize that the...

    Vaping with cotton

I am just replacing the saturated hemp filter with a clean / new one. I draw the vapor through the filter whether it comes from roasting flowers or roasting an oily filter. There are less of the large oil particles released when roasting the hemp filter since it has so much surface area, but I...

    The Amazing Vapor Lung!!!

Getting the bag sealed to the bottle well is very important. Any leaks will reduce the effectiveness. Holes in the bag can also hurt the operation. You should be able to put your finger over the hole in the cap and not be able to pull the bag out of the bottle.

Life Saber (LSV) by Elev8 Vehicles

The control allows you to drop the temperature way down for very tasty hits just like with the glass heater cover. I would have to do a side by side taste comparison to be sure of any differences. I only tried one bowl with the original configuration as I acquired it with the intention of the...

    Vaping with cotton

You are welcome decaptain. I was so excited to see how well the filter works. I was trying to figure out why the Sublimator was delivering such smooth hits. The oil it produces was a clue. That oil had to be coming from somewhere. Larger particles of oil in the vapor will have more energy and be...

Degummed Hemp Fiber You can also do a google search for degummed hemp fiber and maybe find a better deal. They even sell it on Amazon. The price seems about the same but I have only been able to find it sold in KG's. A KG is about the size of a pillow.

    Vaping with cotton

Just received a box of organic hemp fiber in the mail. It works so much better than cotton. There is no clumping and it allows very good air flow. The oily hemp fiber roasts very well too. Lots of air flow for very big clouds. The hemp fiber should also work well in my copper aromatherapy cups...

    The HI

I would say get CentiZen's MVVPS. You might want to try a cheaper quality one in the mean time. The lower price one might be the best option because you will need to spend a more money for the cord anyhow. You can't really use the cord that comes with the more expensive one (except for...

Thanks everyone. This new design is allowing so many more possibilities. I even figured out how to hold onto wood that is smaller than 1.5" so I can start with even smaller wood blanks. A briar burl HI might even be a possibility. CentiZen - That tube started as a solid rod of polypropylene. I...
