I think the hydrabomb would have more drag. That's why I went with the turbine, but maybe I misunderstood the descriptions they wrote on the site.

What did you decide for your HT water level? I always fill mine up to just above the turbine slits so they're covered but not much more than that. It sounds like you put about half as much as me. I'll try that in a few. Which hydrotube is this? Can you please elaborate on what it would look like...

I take my nails out and lay them on an oven pad. After they cool down I just put them back in the box. I also just put my hydrotube back in the box between hits. The water doesn't spill out of mine when it's on its side if I set everything up correctly.

Mine overheated like this once. It seems to be fine now, but should I be concerned?

It's too small to measure in grams. I've had best results with tenths of a gram.

I've been exclusively using glass for decades now and the reality is that sometimes a piece just isn't as strong as expected through no fault of anyone's. Could be the design of the nail, could be a manufacturing defect, but the other 4 nails that came in the 5 pack are fine (*knocks on wood*)...

As far as I know, that is how it's always been. When I bought a kit last sale I didn't get the standard 2 ELBs and 1 nail on top of the extras. The ELBs didn't bother me as much as the missing nail and now I wish I could order just a single nail since I managed to break one while cleaning...

bummer, I just broke one of my quartz vapexnails. Soaked it, then scrubbed it with a test tube nylon brush, and then the end just broke off in my hand. I'm not going to risk anymore of them. Just going to have to live with the ring of crud that develops halfway up the nail. Quality of the vapor...
