    OLD MATE (formerly Medgrind)

I misspoke. I was under the impression a "PEEK" bearing was a brand of full ceramic bearing. I did not realize it's a bearing with ceramic balls in a PEEK (softer than steel) raceway. But yes a full ceramic bearing would increase the risk of ceramic dust...however one wants to define the...

I linked the video to show you what it looks like inside and so you can see even "sealed" bearings can be taken apart, cleaned, and greased again. I don't think you'll ever have to break down the bearing that extensively. Skateboard bearings need to be because of dirt and grime getting into them...

Yes, used to do it all the time for skateboards. Here's a video from a skater: Since they aren't getting dirty like a skateboard bearing does, you could also just soak them in ISO and then soak/pack grease into the bearing without removing the seal. If you want to get really into cleaning the...

I seem to have missed the earlier discussions about the concern over ISO soaking the bearing. Is there any particular reason people don't want to ISO soak the bearing that comes with the A3? You can grease them safely with NSF H1 food grade grease.

Well...there is a TLDR on this vape. It's a hunk of SS304 locally engineered, sourced, and manufactured. If you want to dig into the technicals it's probably best done via the sublimator discussions. The TLDR of *that* however is that, unlike every other ball vape that is a simple tube with a...

My guess is that those of us who bought them did so on its merits and are simply allowing the device to speak for itself similarly to how Jerry brought it to the forum and how he engages in his official thread. I'm not sure what more I could have said other than "it works," which I did back when...

I’ve done it both ways—when my top wouldn’t unscrew—doesn’t hurt anything. My vape is SS but same applies to Ti.

I microwave a mug of water for a couple minutes, throw a dash of PBW in it, then toss my balls in and they come out clean as a whistle in a few minutes.

It was awesome before but now that it's under $500 for the whole kit it's hard to justify anything else.

I don't know the health and safety concerns of heating titanium. The broader point is health wasn't the driver of that threshold. What it should be I don't know and so I choose to err on the side of caution until I can confirm. That's just my opinion. Nothing to do with the Screwball or even...

This only works assuming the differential is linear, which it's unlikely to be. You can also figure in some amount of tolerance; for example, if it's +-5% (which would be pretty low to be honest) that's a 10% swing. 565 could be 510 or it could be 620. It could start out with a +-5% variance and...

Compared to my EVO, the Flower Kettle's taste is on par and the draw is substantively better. The main issue I had with the EVO is it wasn't entirely an all glass air path unless vaping concentrates. Flower still required the stainless steel basket. Whatever one thinks of that isn't really the...

I've been keeping mine between 350 and 420. Now that I have some new pieces I'm going to see what happens when I go lower...trying to chase those blue clouds that I remember was the goal 10 years ago :D

The Golden Age of Dry Herb Vaping?

I don't even bother trying to explain my consumption habits to my primary care doc. I haven't smoked anything, let alone nicotine, for well over 20 years now but when I used to say I still "vape" it's obviously understood as a cart, etc., which now that the studies are finally being conducted...

I'm sure eventually there will be a copy but, as mentioned earlier, it will be difficult because of the exacting precision that is expensive to do no matter who is doing the labor (as he mentioned earlier, other manufacturers looked into the costs and bowed out). You are right, though, about...
