I 3D printed a case with a BMS for 3S 18650. It is the part under the IH. Be careful in how much of the coil wire you discard. The length of that wire is part of the circuit. Say 33" is the norm for 3S/12V. Shortening the wire forces the IH to pull more power from the supply. The cheapest...

That's what I found on Reddit... This is what I found on McMaster-Carr: https://freeimage.host/i/HDn9Ls2 These are the numbers I got by measuring mine with fair set of digital calipers: Large X-ring: 7.98mm OD/4.56mm ID/1.87mm thick Small X-ring: 7.40mm OD/ 4.05mm ID/1.78mm thick Normalized...

You are correct @wazzack - use negative input on the input terminal and positive input on the output terminal. When you cut the trace, the center output terminal and the positive input terminal should be isolated from each other. That is there the low-power momentary switch goes to provide...

@JettyRatt - The use of the MOSFET switch has always bothered me. The idea is that you can use a low power switch to switch the MOSFET switch, which is a high power switch. Without the MOSFET switch, you need a 10A-DC rated switch for input power. That is the trade off. Now there is a...

That is less advantageous than you might first think... the cap depends on heat coming back to it from the tip as you draw to balance the convection and conduction heating. Not to mention I use the infamous '18 tip with its OG cap and get perfect airflow with a couple of simple modifications...

The crimps in the cap came about due to the number of 'loose cap' complaints that came sailing in after some big sale. The entire run had no crimp and most fell off when they took them out of the box. The captive cap was born because people couldn't pinch the cap to secure them on their tips...

Induction Heater MAD Heaters - Innovative Dynavap Accessories

Close fit with the cap and large surface overlap between the cap and the tip. That is what makes the '18 such a hot tip, with a few mods. The cap's 'heat' turns out to be a tooling option... hotter caps without more mass. The differences in the caps is all in the tooling. We know all the...

I like the sub-C cell adapter I made at one time: https://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-magic-flight-box.750/page-1078#post-1450090 This preserves the 'feel' of using the box.
