I don’t know those ones, but I would guess so. It’s more about what you clean it with - a metal brush or metal scourer won’t be good because it has a thin chrome layer on it which should remain there. The next version won’t need this thin layer so you can clean or polish it in any way basically...

Do you touch the cap regularly? Clean it as much as you can with something non-abrasive please. Barkeepers Friend + toothbrush for example. The new parts will fix this issue, it shouldn’t look nearly as bad.

Sorry about that! It should go in easily without any lubrication if the stem and the o-rings are clean. It shouldn't take too much effort to pull out either, normally. Did you ever remove those o-rings? The one that slides into the stem first is a smaller 5x1mm; only the other one is 6x1mm. If...
