I could design a piece to be printed, but what material would you use? The regular polymers are out because of the temps, maybe some high temp resins? Could go Shapeways metal but that get's pricey.

Your right, the mouth-piece minus the lip-piece works on some of my 14 mm water-pieces but found that it would be loose on others. If your water-piece happens to fit your golden! And yes with the adapter you don't have to push down to inhale, I was also thinking, since I have the clip mechanism...
