The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

Yeah. Same guy. I think I read on his thread that he’s not that active on Etsy. Best to dm him here…….. so I did. Currently waiting on a custom order for my beloved tempest (my j hook setup needs an upgrade).

Found this on the Hookahhead thread. Might be just a DM away @cybrguy

Maybe try horizontal heating? Tempest is horizontal and flame is vertical. I’ve done this. You can taste the heavy carbon taste before it sparks. Just wait a bit (to let the balls cool down some) and finish the bowl. The remaining hits taste like shit, but at least it’s not a total loss...

How far deep is your wand adapter? For me, the bottom of the adapter is in line with the red silicone on the wand. On a cold start, wand set at 610F and heat till timeout, my VI is right below the third mark. If your VI is maxed out, but you need to reheat the bowl, then you might need to push...

Yes and no (variance of glass and shit). I have 3 18/14mm male adapters. One fits snug, one is loose (fits but can fall out with vigorous shaking), and one doesn’t grab the tempest at all. However, I did have a brown o-ring from a previous Madheater order that is thicker than the gray o-rings...

After seeing all these pics of the rosewood, I should’ve got both. It’s affordable enough. Hopefully when my ebony comes, I’ll be less remorseful. But I’ll probably grab a rosewood on release day, along with an oven, screens, and pre-release kits.

I’ve been testing the “horizontal” heating technique (flame is vertical, tempest is horizontal). I actually like torching this way better. I can see the VI easier (but still need my reading glasses). Vertical heating took about 1min 20secs on average. Horizontal heating has been under a minute...

Here’s my thoughts on aftermarket stems. If the stem has narrow airways (like the rocket stem) then it will have better cooling and more draw resistance than a more open stem (like a dimpled stem). But it’ll clog faster needing more frequent maintenance, and it’ll rob more vapor. Cleaning is a...

Um…… My original torch analysis might need a little more testing done. Gotta try this technique first.

Single flame works but you need a hefty flame. My single torch takes about 1min 20 secs (medium sized torch) to get to temp while my wand takes about 45 seconds. Can’t speak on a triple flame as I have none. Ime with dynas, my IH was quick to heat up and quickly cooled down. Torching gave me a...

Sucks if you’re one of these affected, but look at the bright side,….. possibly first dibs on an updated batch in 2 weeks? I wouldn’t mind that at all. In fact, I would be hoping it was me.

Tip airflow locked at half open for me ( I set it, and don’t mess with it). On the native setup, I like MTL hits. On a wpa, DTL. Half open seems like a happy medium. Surprisingly, MTL didn’t do too well with the tip airflow almost closed. Not enough air flowing through the herb with small hits...

Same here. But for me, after that first huge cloud, my throat gets irritated and I struggle to finish the bowl. Kinda felt like a full bowl was just too much for me. So it makes sense to go half bowl for this style. But, for screen longevity, I don’t want to mess with it too much. Gonna follow...

Echoing this sentiment. I’m really liking the full bowl with MTL hits. I usually start with a short DTL hit (maybe 3-4 secs?), just to get the vapor going, then leisurely puff with MTL hits, then clean up with a DTL hit. On a wpa with j hook, full bowl gets me wrecked in one giant hit. I...

Howzit everyone. I started testing full bowls. Damn this vape is amazing. After only testing half bowls, a full bowl hammered me real good. I think the full bowl takes advantage of the excellent heat retention. In half bowl, you can exhaust all the goodness well before the heat dies down. In...

When I did use the cu, I put a rimless basket screen in front of the cu (from the bowl side, it’s herb, basket screen, then cu). It helps keeping herb off the cu screen. You could probably take out the cu screen and just use the basket screen since the cu screen can get gummed with resin...

Half bowl setting for me. Makes it easier to fill a bowl. Just “stab and twist” the tempest in the reload, brush away the top and finger tamp. No need to pinch/scoop herb into the bowl, and no extra tamping tool needed. Happy Holidaze everyone.

Howzit everyone. Had my tempest for a week now. Still in the testing phase (so versatile that testing is taking some time). But my findings echo a lot of reviews here. This vape is fucking amazing. I’m liking the half bowl. Was testing with full bowl, but I get more even extraction with...
