@Zow237 Try a single flame torch and aim between the lines while spinning. Are you closing the carb while inhaling? Also, maybe try half open on the tip airflow adjustment. I torch my tempest horizontally like @TedJones. Two and a half notch mark is my sweet spot.

Can confirm that these work great. I only use the full bowl setting though. Others have reported that they fit fine at half bowl setting also.

I just use the magic sponge with water (slightly damp), not iso. I rip off a small piece of sponge, wet it, then lightly squeeze some excess water (don’t want water dripping down the tubes), then scrub away (mostly upside down).

The airflow sleeve on the tip/cap? I tightened the screw on top of the cap so the sleeve doesn’t move. Learned that because my sleeve wouldn’t budge when I first got it. Used it for about a week fully open before someone here said to loosen the screw first (thanks btw). This actually works...

I’ve been enjoying this technique lately. No need to cover/flutter the carb. Just wide open DTL hits. Very smooth vapor with very little draw resistance (pocketable bong), and surprisingly good clouds. Works good with the straw method to load the bowl.

Possibly resin leaking through the mouthpiece/carb? If you heat the Tempest upside down (cap down, mp up), then resin can leak through the cap and into the wand adapter. Heating right side up (cap up, mp down), and resin can leak through the mp. The only time this happened to me was when I was...

This is a long shot but might as well try. Try adjusting the stem holder ring (tighten/loosen). If it doesn’t have an air-tight seal, performance suffers. Sometimes, people twist the stem while taking it out, so it can loosen up that way.
