ok watched some vids, Ghost seemed like a very substantial vaporizer.
Looks like some nice sessions. How was it in terms of reliability ? or Maintenance?
what made it unique? Why/how did it go under?

Door latches were suss if you were not careful and an ultrasonic cleaner made maintenance easy...was a pain to keep clean without. It has a great cooling set up with great taste and clouds. They spent heaps on promos, parties and not enough on fixing the door problems and went arse up from poor management...I guess?

My MV1 was functional (other than abv issues). Didn’t use it for a year. Pulled it out of hiding, unlatched it, and it was never able to latch closed again. Broke when it wasn’t even being used.

This vape rly could’ve been something great, and we saw the potential with the few flawless units.

Props to both HL and Ghost for trying to bring something new and technologically advanced to the market instead of the same fluff repeated for years, but sucks they both couldn’t figure it out and yoinked the rug from their supporters.

I think reliability played a big role in killing the company, but it was part of a larger story. I bought one for $99 during a Christmas sale that was an incognito going out of business sale. I bought a stealth, and the latch did not break but it had some other problem. Days before going out of business I filed a support claim and immediately was offered a new vape and it was suggested I'd want a color other than stealth. I took the hint and got a got black mirror metallic. The Ghost was known for it's amazing "first hit". It is downright amazing. But it would also char the weed and the any further hits would taste like ass. The best way to use it was to set it to high heat and just try to clear the bowl in one hit. It was almost perfect device with too many flaws. It needed an app to fully function. There were only 4 presets temps but they could all be set with the app. The problem is the App was useless without the ghost server running. So once Apple blocked vape Apps, the companies days were numbered. Even with the quality control problems and problems after the first hit, the device did so much right and had so much potential (and hype) that most(at least many) of us were really looking forward to a Ghost 2. I believe Apple was the final nail in the coffin. The devices success was really tied up in App Control and once Apple killed that their future was limited. I'm guessing that had the EVOLI scare not happened and had Apple still allowed Vape control apps another funder would have come in to rescue the company. But after EVOLI vapes went from the "health" product to persona non-grata almost overnight.

It's a real shame since, Firewood manages to allow users to have 3 presets plus unregulated mode and allows users to set any temp to any preset (in 10º increments) with only one button and a vibe function. Ghost had 2 buttons, five color changing LEDs and a vibe and the only thing you could do with the physical interface was to initiate a vape session or pick one of 3 presets. Once the Ghost server went down, your Ghost was locked into the last 3 presets you selected.

Can't speak for Apple users but I have the app installed on my android phone and it operates fine without needing to speak to any server, the vape itself is a temperamental little monkey but I still dig it out occasionally.

The app is actually really good, nice simple interface and just works no need to make an account or any mucking about

Unlike the vape 😂😝

If you turn your ghost on with the 3 clicks then press and hold the silver button down itll go into temp mode and you can cycle all 3 yellow and 3 red for 6 total temps. I checked out the app when it came out and chose manual instead for changing my temp. i still have 3 colors that all work like champs from day one. Such a treat to pull out here and there.

Really? I remember trying it on an Android and it wouldn't work. I thought it had to make a connection to the server to register the device to the phone. ...... ....... .... well you just convinced me to get out my Ghost . Strangely enough the battery was still charged ... after about a year not used. I loaded the latest version of the Ghost App on one of my Androids, I sure thought the last version I had stopped working and tried to phone home, but I guess the final Android version does actually still work (although Android now complains that it's s "security risk" but that's most just do to it using old network and bluetooth APIs, but don't worry it's still safe.... for the most part, there's no indication it's hacked... ) and then I could finally see that the highest temp had been changed to 260º F, which explained why it never worked well after the Apple App went away. After reseting that to 428º F, I had to load up a crucible. I set the MV1 to 410º F and then took a big rip on some of Rise's Afternoon Delight #4 which is a super high thc/high terpene strain. I forgort that yes the Ghost has 6 preset temps and 5 were editable. Took one or two good rips on 6 crucibles in a row. It was quite fun. But one more rip in each crucible would have tasted burnt in the Ghost. I took the avb from the crucibles and it was mostly green with a few random black flower material (the source of the burned taste in each crucible). So then I just mixed up the mostly green and the few chared part and put in my TinyMight at around 5 and it still had decent flavor and vapor production. Anyway the Ghost, still lived up to my past experience. 1 or 2 good rips, but I guess if you just line up a bunch of crucibles it can be fun.... and not entirely wasteful to finish off with the Tiny Might....
