The removals in Tennessee are the result of a growing political movement to control information through book banning.

It's probably not related but I've noticed a significant change in the availability of information online as well. Google searches and YouTube searches only bring up "the official line".
((Sorry in advance but this is the rant thread I'm passionate about this one.))
For example, it's increasingly difficult to get information concerning proven alternative health options such as intermittent fasting or information concerning the negative effects of gluten. It's as if big pharma took charge and is determined to convince everyone to continue unhealthy habits and then rely on expensive patented long term magic-bullet medicine that has no chance of working. Our commercialized medical system works great if you are injured or have a routine short duration illness, but the rest is almost predatory, actually creating business thru misinformation. The entire medical establishment officially refuses to conduct a simple study on the effects of gluten because "there's no money in it, thus no money to fund the study". Somehow they are happier acting like they don't know the truth while raking in ~$1T/year treating symptoms unsuccessfully with snake oil. There are 82 documented autoimmune diseases, all caused by leaky bowel syndrome, in turn caused by huge GMO glutton kernels that wedge open small pores in the gut allowing dangerous intestinal immune cells directly into an otherwise clean bloodstream. Just a few diseases easily avoided are rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, lupus, Crohn's, type 1 diabetes, celiac, etc , etc.. It's criminal but it's modern America. You can't have socialized medicine if the government is allowing this to happen. The government is ultimately responsible, big pharma is one of the top 3 lobbying groups that has bought both sides of Congress. Gluten is the only non nutritional food on the food pyramid for a reason, and not just because it's cheap and makes good tasty treats, processed food and junk food. Bleached, pulverized gluten tastes horrible unless mixed or smeared with something, often sweets. Zero nutritional value. Every bit of wheat you eat, your body has to rob minerals from existing tissue merely to survive. The resulting insulin spike occurs sooner, is much more severe and lasts longer than sugar. The average person thinks it's healthy enough so they eat lots 10x as much wheat compared to sugar, maybe 20x as much when trying unsuccessfully to lose weight. Sugar is vilified by the medical community when it should be gluten. Half the sugar we eat goes to offsetting the horrible taste of gluten. Then there's the the long term health decline stemming from the toxic (gluten) effect. Most autoimmune diseases go unrecognized and untreated. It's a big payoff, with or without insurance, when a person is diagnosed with a mysterious autoimmune disease. The doctor will just tell you it's your immune system fighting some part of your body, as if it's your fault.
A very similar story with intermittent faster easily avoiding fun things like cancer and heart disease, but no one is still reading, I'm sure.
