It's still easier to deal with them than with Trump I think. that said, almost all of EU leaders are proto-fascists. They feel inspired by Trump because they see an easy way to keep the power for themselves and they are greedy. They'd sell their kids for a minute of power and a gold coin.

That's pretty common in fascist countries. But I would bet a big percentage of those poor people are so-called "Mizrahi Jews". As in ethnic Arabs, Africans, or Iranians who happen to be Jewish. They have faced massive amounts of discrimination since Israel's founding.

most of them have been wildly purged I think. Probably around 10000 collaborators have been executed (legally or illegally). Which is low regarding how much damage they've done... a lot of them have been stripped from their possessions and civil rights. There have been a lot of abuse though. Some executions were disguised personal griefs and / or property convetousness.
All in all it has been rather moderate because De Gaule govt. prioritized national reunification over retaliation. Which is fine I think.
The real issue is that fascists ideas has perdured through these times and a lot of actual fascists movements are identifying themselves to the nazis or to the collaboration.
