I scored a Universal Baller recently and thought I'd share my experience using it wireless.
When I first tried it the flavor was extraordinary using the quartz. However, I encountered some resistance when using the fritted disc, and I was not getting the full hit that I was looking for. I did need to increase my temperatures up about 40 degrees more than what I usually use. I wanted it to hit more freely so I tried using the metal screen in place of the fritted disc. It seemed like something was not quite right. So I reached out to TCC here on FC. He advised me to make some changes in how I had it put together. His advice was to flip the quartz and use all 3 of the metal screens on top as well as removing some of the balls so it would be about 95% full rather than totally maxed. This made a big difference and I was able to reduce the temps back down to my usual range. I got bigger hits with more flavor. Then when I used it without the quartz and all of the balls, it worked really well. I just wanted to get it to work better using the quartz. TCC hooked me up with a quartz screen to use instead of the fritted disc. I think they will run about $30 when fully available.
I also got lucky and scored the wood handled bowl that is currently on pre-order. This is a really cool bowl, no gaskets, I really like that.
This made a big difference for me.
This bowl looks like it was meat to be heated. I tried heating it in one of my coils.
I then went back and tried using it with all quartz with the high flow quartz screen. WOW, the flavor and size of the hit was intense! Definitely the most tasty vape session I have had. Don't need to heat the bowl up much. You can even use a torch if you don't have an additional heater coil.
I have been setting my second heater at around 275F and leave the bowl in it until ready to fill and take a hit. There is no need to reheat the bowl for a second or third hit. It stays warm enough and after the first hit, it dries the flower enough to vape real easy.
It is almost like having 4 vaporizers in 1. I really love how versatile it is. A big shout out to TCC for walking me through my difficulties, and for his generosity. I would also like to thank FC for having this site to where we can communicate with other vaporists and the designers as well.
Now tonight, I am going to go back and try it full quartz with the fritted disc and see how it goes.
