Pen Puffco Pivot

Any truth that there are 2 Puffco Easter Eggs 1. that raises the Pivot's high temp to 600 and 2. lowers the low temp to mid 400's. ? Flavor at around 400 - 450 would be scrumptious . What say you ? ( apologies to Bill O'Rielly. )

Idk if everyone's settled on terp pearl size, but I have 2mm and 4mm. The 2mm causes so much fucking splash it is ridiculous. 4mm is almost nothing and the pearl spins easier. Gonna try 2 4mm but have only had the thing for 24 hours.

Whenever I use a 2.5 it sucks up into the mouthpiece, 4mm seems perfect.

I've only tried the 4 & I think that is my perfect size although i did not have any other to compare that with. I laughed that off thinking someone could get a hot terp perl in your mouth, but i guess that is feasible.

I tried 2 of the 4 mm in the Pivot and i didn't care for it as much as a single.

2 4mm splashes terribly. 1 4mm is probably the sweet spot.

Is it just the honeymoon phase or do any of you find yourself reaching for your pivot over your peak pro ? I have a pro with a brand new XXL dish and I'm repeatedly using the pivot back to back.

I saw this mentioned on a glassblowers page, they made nice glass mouthpiece then sucked up a hot terp pearl! A lot have screens now or indents to stop it happening

Been testing this mp that I got in January. Really loving this thing. Definitely changes the pivot experience. But before I start gushing over this accessory, I need to retract a previous comment…
Con- airflow sucks, doesn’t spin a pearl no matter how hard you pull.
I was wrong twice in this one statement. Airflow doesn’t suck, it’s just made differently than what stock intended. And it does spin a pearl, you just have to inhale harder than other MPs (not necessarily a negative). In pics 4 and 5, you can see that the airflow is designed to shoot straight into the oven, many times causing splatter if you inhale too hard, too early. In pic 6, airflow doesn’t go straight into the oven, so you can draw fairly hard, and not need to worry about splatter.

I’ve mentioned the pros of this MP in a previous post.
Pros- extremely cool vapor, straw-like tip is very comfortable, 45 degree bend is more ergonomic.

Pic 3 shows the wide open bottom. I was originally worried about sucking up the 3mm ruby pearl I got in there, but it has never come close to exiting the oven, regardless of how hard I inhale.

Vapor is extremely cool. I’ve been using white Easter egg mode. I still cough, but nothing unbearable.

So………. Airflow doesn’t violently enter the oven (so you can inhale faster), and vapor is cool enough to go white Easter egg mode. Perfect combo to do bigger dabs. Been loading up the oven with around triple the usually recommended rice grain size, and LOVEING IT. Definitely happy with this purchase.

Is it just the honeymoon phase or do any of you find yourself reaching for your pivot over your peak pro ? I
No peak pro, but I’ll reach for my pivot over every device I own. It’s what I’ve been looking for since starting this journey. A pocketable device, that can get me really high, really fast, and chuck clouds, without attracting too much unwanted attention.

Grabbed this Steve H pivot mouthpiece from my local shop. Pretty nice. The indentation keeps a pearl in it has air slits on two sides to spin them I guess. Def an improvement over the silicone and also the glass mouthpieces i was macgyvering from other glass bits and a gasket from a peak chamber.

They have 3 other ones you could order online and a crushed opal one with a grateful dead millie that I would have grabbed if it were some other millie that was more aligned with my interests.

Baked Turkey Steve H collection

Whoops forgot the link. the grateful dead millie one is on the second page I think.

Decided to give one of these a go. Coming from a a few dtv5 and core thought this would be more civilised.

So anywhere I can get a glass mouthpiece u.k?.

Cheers

i got a few things for my Pivot for which i have been trying out a few things; 2 different style WPAs as well as a short glass stem. I definitely appreciate it. I am also finding a good mate for it with a small bubbler. I have 2 minor issues in the overall scheme of things:
  1. the hit can get a touch warm to the mouth after you have been hitting it for a while. This is what prompted me to get the WPAs so i could try that out. Yes i do like that and i can go maybe a touch hotter than i might with the Pivot my itself. Much more testing required i do think!
  2. With the standard tip/mouthpiece you get a ton of reclaim up in the cap. For me this is what prompted me to get the short mouthpiece. But i do think it can go overboard as i see small recyclers sitting on top of the Pivot itself. A bit too tall for my liking.
this would be so much better with some pics. Finished taxes Uggh and so now maybe i can take some.

I'd be interested to see a few pics.

Ideally I'm looking for a small glass mouthpiece to avoid the silicone I'm not looking to add water or anything big. As I'll be using it on the go and in places I shouldn't be using it.

Cheers

OooOOOooh yeah! This top RIPS!!

The krylon spray can tip shape is perfect for spinning pearls with minimal effort. Lots of low restrictive airflow and a big headbase to cool all that vapor and is much more comfier on my lips than the organik glass mouthpiece, which btw only has one air vent vs, the TWO on the kizmit glass top.

It's still small enough to be discreet and not too flashy...
...well except for that beautiful crushed opal effect on the black.

@Mickk I did the same. Picked up a two pack with same intentions.

6+ months of ownership and plenty of outside usage and still on the original chamber lol. It still looks new as day one (well minus the top ring).

One day I will preload all three and enjoy but normally after one I’m good for a couple hours…well maybe

I need to get some of the new chambers with the extra holes on top. I found it really tough to remove the reclaim buildup that goes into the seam near the top of the ceramic cup, with some coming out still after multiple overnight soaks in 99% ISO and an ultrasonic bath at 160F.

It wouldn't bother me but what I have noticed recently is the more that's built up back there, the harder the battery has to work to heat the chamber up and keep it at temp. This means less sessions per charge too. It was making one of my Pivots throw a high temp error and turn off after a single use on red temp and I noticed the battery itself would get noticeably hotter. After heavy cleaning of the chamber, its back to normal performance and the initial heat up time drops by about 5 seconds.

I still adore these devices and use them daily though!

You can pretty much take that all apart and clean it in iso:

Same here. When the oven takes long to heat up, or I get a high temp error off one dab, I know its time for a deep clean.

I clean just a little differently. After soaking, I’ll dry the atomizer upside down (hole on atomizer facing down) and leave it for a few hours. Next I’ll do a dry burn off, but without the silicone sleeve around the oven, and facing the top hole down. Reclaim and water/iso usually drip out the hole while shaking a little. Wait till the oven cools a bit, and do another burn off.

Still using my pivot daily for on the go and at home. Getting a switch2 to cover dabs at home, so hopefully I can cut back the amount of times I need to deep clean the Pivot atomizers.

Aww man I thought you meant we could take the 3d chamber apart! The rest is good stuff which I mostly did already but I might try some compressed air to see if that helps like he did.

In at least one of my chambers it was more not realizing the buildup behind it until I noticed it was hard to see the coil going around on the bottom half, so there was significant buildup that doesn't want to come out easy. Following those steps from the start about once a week I would expect it to maintain much better than in my case!
