Hello! Can anyone provide me with the max OD of the new Tempest 2 head? @ScruffyWoofers is doing some work for me in the next week or so and I would love to ask them to make me a stand for the tempest 2 so it all arrives at the same time! @kokolokokolokon or @Brenyo ?
I've been wondering that, didn't think V2 would fit the old stand, oh well, I always fancied a bronze one

I've been messing around with the 3mm rubies again. I've been doing a variation of Table Top Bong reviews preheat method

I set the wand to auto mode, temperature 325c / 620f. Drop the Tempest in and count 10 seconds / wand blinks, then take it back out. Start the timer over but this time wait till the time out message

I was using this on a bong, drawing slowly. The vapour started getting really dense after a few seconds, and kept on coming! I had to stop halfway through to exhale a lungful!

I think pulling on the bong slowly helps keep the top of the bowl from getting scorched. It was a little darker on top but the colour of the AVB was pretty consistent all the way through the bowl. I did do another cycle (respecting the click) but it was pretty much fully extracted

So yeah..... If you have rubies try it out!

This was the AVB after 1 cycle

Titanium for the heat shield here is simply a luxury at a slightly higher weight. Titanium is my spirit metal though so I wanted it 100% grade 5 including the shield.

AFAIK it was only an option for preorders and aluminum heat shields will be the only option moving forward.

It’s a pity that I found out about this company so late. Just recently, I decided to purchase my first vaporizer to use for my special day ceremonies and chose MadHeaters.

Thank you for your response!

admittedly, I ended up selling by blk one after I dialed in which set up I prefer. still hanging tight with my silver! :)
I got a circonia filled, full metal blue Tempest that is my daily driver, set in the half bowl position with the direct tube on and a backup tempest-revolve combo with boro beads, also in the same setup.
After I test the **** out of the v2 I think I will need to get rid of one, can't have 2 tempest backups with all the other vapes chillin in the drawer hehe

Yeah I think you're on to something.
  • Aluminum is way easier to machine than titanium. It cuts faster, produces less tool wear, and is generally more forgiving.
  • This means shorter cycle times, less expensive tooling, and fewer issues during production—which can improve overall productivity and reduce downtime.

I just read a comment from Brenyo in another post about why they're not offering the TI heat shield. Apparently it's very time consuming to make it out of titanium. The price difference really isn't all that much either. I think I may have been right about it being added to the pre order edition at body or very near it just to make people more likely to buy it. Just thinking about the properties of these metals I really don't think the titanium would get as hot, as fast, but also that the difference would be pretty minimal
