What’s the total length of an XL anvil?

I’m trying to get a leather case while I wait for it to arrive and not sure on the length. Cheers!

Been spending a lot of time with the Anvil again recently. I also own the Tornado.

I forgot how much I like this vape, got so swept up in Tornado hype that the Anvil sort of fell by the wayside. There was a relatively short time between Thermocore launching and the Tornado appearing which made it so I never really appreciated what a fantastic oven revision it really is.

It’s different enough to the copper/dura ovens that some manufacturers would’ve probably launched it as a separate vape. Feels like a halfway house between Anvil and Tornado and I mean that in the best way. It heats quite differently to what I’m used to with the OG oven.

It’s strange, perhaps it’s just the switching vape thing but I'm almost certain the Anvil is getting me stronger, more stony effects with the regular bowl than I’m getting with the TXL bowl. Will see if this opinion still holds after a few weeks.

I’ve been using a big torch to blast the beer gut on the thermocore rather than the thermal battery with smaller flame. Does well to preserve more flavour and the end puffs don’t taste so shitty. Much quicker to heat too.

I guess the point of this utter waffle is that the Anvil still kicks serious arse, and shouldn’t be forgotten in the wake of its louder more bombastic brother and all the attention it’s getting. I may even prefer it currently.

I preffer also the anvil with thermocore. I don't like the conduction vape signature of the tornado. But maybe the tornado work better with induction than with my ronxs torch.
I think that the normal anvil bowl click maybe latter than the xl. Could be the reason why the effect is stronger. I preffer the xl bowl on my side because it is less arsh

I use a RONX and I can roast the bowl to dark brown, just like I do using the same torch with my Anvil, but the signature is more to my preference on the Anvil. Both vapes are so good though, I enjoy them in different ways.

It might be that your regular bowl clickers aren’t broken in yet? I notice that it clicked a lot hotter and harsher for the first 20-30 bowls and then it settled to what it is now. Although I do think the XL bowl can be a bit smoother from the added conduction and lower heat requirements, I agree with you there.

It was my experience that the Anvil has more conduction, not less. The Tornado feels very Hybrid to me.

That's why the Tornado won't really replace the Anvil, as the signature is different.
I can understand both opinions. The more stony signature of the Anvil suggests more conduction, while the less stony signature of the Tornado suggests less conduction.

At the same time though, the Tornado tends to produce wisps of vapour during heatup (the way I do it anyway) and has a much more up front vapour production. Which suggests more conduction. The Anvil doesn’t do this as much for me.

How you heat it is obviously a variable which can affect things a lot. I do think that factors quite a bit in terms of how people perceive these things.

Although if there’s anything I’ve learned, discussing the conduction/convection ratios of Vestratto vapes often ends poorly

For that reason and others I tend to go more by the signature and flavour, which I feel is often more telling of the experience you’ll have. But again, can often be different from person to person based on heating and other variables like bowl choice.

Your point about them both coexisting due to different signatures gets a hard agree from me. They both have a time and a place, and for me the time and place is lining up with the Anvil a bit more as of late.

Very good points. I was playing fast and loose by just labeling them convection/conduction. There are lots of variables like you said. I find the Tornado in the wand has more conduction, but more waste for example.

We also don't know how much the Tornado atomiser contributes to the signature as well as potency.

I guess it does help to to instead talk about how stoney or cerebral a signature is. The Anvil always felt stoney to me. The Tornado feels more hybrid to me.
