Vapman

It's back!
I did some quick tests yesterday...
I need to do even more testing, but... first good news:
It heats up much more than my previous one. No need to wait 5 seconds after the green light turns on.

It's already much better.
I haven't yet been able to determine if changing the level with the knob really affects how the flowers are cooked... but it will be an opportunity to do more tests.

Glad to be back with this experience!!!

I still need to figure out where it's going to sit...
but I have two cables, so maybe it'll alternate between two places...

Thanks @vapman for the kind gesture that allowed me to find again an incredible setup!!!

I’ve been enjoying my Vapman clicks. Ended up getting both a cherry and walnut.

Signature is very much like a torch powered Pax.

Great flavor the first 2 hits, then it’s roasty from there.

I don’t think the device is meant to be pushed. It’s definitely a ritual sipper. But I guess you can rip it too. There’s better devices for that though.

Stirring the bowl with the click is a gimmick lol. If you feel compelled to stir, put in the funnel and give it a real stir.

I kinda like the cherry over the walnut. Very light and minimalistic, with the cherry wood imparting a nice flavor. The walnut is better finished and feels more premium, especially with the added weight of the mica.

Definitely a nice addition to the collection.

I love mine with hash. Currently Lebanese, gently torched so that the flavour lasts and lasts with barely visible clouds. I stop when the creamy flavour stops, although I can usually blast another two big (not so tasty) hits from it if I'm in the mood

Who doesn't love a vitrine or two?
Oh thanks for the link, that is tempting!

I have these two that might need a nice cover:

Does the flame scorching on my Chery Click suggest I'm using too powerful a flame? Or is this generally expected for an unfinished model with no Mica?
Also do we have any rumours of an updated concentrates plate for the Click? The one currently available is not really fit for purpose, as the poor fit ends up creating a mess. I would love one that covered the entire bowl including sidewalls, so we can avoid mess no matter what. Would make it the ultimate hash device for me.

You do like killing the bowl in few heatups, right ? I bet you don't respect the click much 😁

The OG is quicker to heat up with hash, overall the click is very flower leaning (bowl size, calibration...)

Yes, we are planing to release a new product soon. It`s an electric heat station for vapman, the development is done, it works, we just have to make them. The unit runs on 18V-24V and uses
maximal 50W. An average jet-flame delivers around 100W but with the aide of a technical trick we could keep the heat up time as low as with the lighter, meaning that vapman is ready in seconds when placed on the station. With the heat station, vapman can be used with one hand only and it is absolutely silent, easy to use and no danger of burning. It features a light barrier, one led light with three different colors, a dial for temperature setting, a heating cartridge with thermo couple and is controlled through a progrmmable micro processor. A nice piece of technique in a solid alu and wood casing. There are pictures on this thread of a prototype, I think, the final version will be very similar with some minor modifications. The release will be in 2-4 months at the latest. It is made here in Biel, Switzerland and it won`t cost a fortune, we like to keep it under 100 dollars.

Hats off to your repair work, great that you keep your little fellows (@Seren) going!

Cheers,

vapman

Ok Vapman, here's a minor question for you. Why Vapman and not Vapeman? Thank you for dreaming up such a wonderful device!
Good question! My answer is: because I didn`t know any better, because English is obviously not my first language and because I dreamed instead of doing some research. During the development I could not think of a name for the device I was working on. One day a friend visited me to see how things are progressing and when he was leaving I asked him casually if he could think of a suitable name for it. Vap(e)man came instantly out of his mouth, this linked my thoughts to the portable Sony Walkman tape player I used to have in the 80`s. I said, what a brilliant idea and he replied: "it`s yours you can have it". I said thank you, wrote the name vapman on a piece of paper and never ever looked back. Today I know better and would probably spell it vapeman, too late now i guess. Fortunately, the wrong spelling doesn`t affect the function of vapman in any way but might put a smile on your face when you read it now.

Thank you for being a part of the dream!

I think Vapman looks and sounds much better than Vapeman anyways, much more elegant. Same with the Dynavap, I'm glad it's not Dynavape.

Wow, that Padauk Click is stunning! You also get a pretty sweet deal with the 4/20 discount.

Unfortunately, being prone to allergic reactions, I think the wood is a bit too exotic for me. Otherwise I'd definitely be interested. Still looking forward to seeing pics of it in action though!

Does anyone know if it is possible to fit the click bowl in an OG body?
The swiss made units are not assembled in the same way than the Italian ones.

On the Swiss units the nozzles are first clamped individually on the heart piece then the bowl is placed on the nozzle and the end of the tubes that protrude inside the bowl are crimped to set the assembly.

On the Italians where the heart piece chimney is larger, the bowl is assembled with the nozzle first then the sub assembly is placed inside the heart piece and clamped with the aluminium clamps.

If you want to mount a click bowl on a Swiss made unit then you should get the bowl and the nozzles individually as new parts (before assembly), then proceed as mentioned above for the Swiss assembly. (You should also get the right tool to set the nozzles inside the bowl).

I think that René recently changed the design on the basic (pures) units he makes so the bowl can be swapped just like on the Italian version.

So are the only new releases clicks from here on in?
