Does anyone know if the Woodscents Lite from Sneaky Pete has the old CCD-style core or the newer titanium mesh? It's on sale so I'd like to grab one to keep as a backup for my "old" Caucasian Mountain Walnut; it's kind of blowing my mind that I bought it nearly 4 years ago at this point, it seems like just yesterday.

In other news, I'm excited to dig out my Woodscents for the first time in a while. The noticeably restricted airflow (through water, never used it native) and limited bowl size started to annoy me so I ended up getting the Volcano classic back out and the Woodscents shelved. But I'm seeing there's a new tip by Simrell that uses mesh instead of CCDs for a screen and now new models apparently don't use CCDs on the heater core, so it sounds like airflow has been opened up a lot over the years.

I've got that new Thermal Extractor Chamber tip on the way, I'm really excited. This might satisfy the VAS itch I was getting that was leading me to diving into the ball-vape world with a ZenLeaf Fusion.

So I've been enjoying the hell out of my WoodScents since it arrived, but at the same time I feel obliged to eventually get these 2mm ruby balls out of the drawer and carry out the mod. The reason I haven't done so yet is that on my 2023 unit the mesh screen is threaded in very nicely and I'm not sure if any special tools are needed to remove and, more crucially, refit it; the last thing I want is to not be able to refit that screen on the heater.

Has anyone with a 2023 model done that mod, and was it easy to remove and refit the screen? Any tips will be appreciated!

Purple Urkel tonight!

I broke my 10mm glass WPA and have gotten a couple vapes that benefit from a sturdier adapter so my 420 purchases took that as a goal and I grabbed a couple really nice Simrell pieces. Both are SS lined and feature thick, dense blackwood bodies. The 10mm setup is very low-profile and probably robust enough for the PP TA. It's perfect for the Woodscents:

Hi everyone ! First post here so go easy on me . During the 420 sales i picked up a woodscents lite kit from GWNV here in Canada . After getting it i really enjoyed the ability to leave it on, on my desk where i spend most of my time during the days . Fast forward a few days, im a woodscents convert so i decided to grab a second one for my shop. When i went to grab the second one the sale was over . I looked around and found another site THC that had a full kit still on sale for a decent price so i grabbed it thinking i would have all the bits n bobs to use across both. Not being very familiar with woodscents what i did not realize was that the second one was i assume by the numbers on the bottom an older model. Anyhow the whole point of this now i gave you some background is that my lite kit from GWNV can be left on all day and the base is still not hot to the touch. The other unit is what i'd call uncomfortably hot to hold at the base after just 30 mins . Is it normal for the older units to hold this much heat ?
Thanks
