Arizer Solo 3

My biggest question about the Solo 3 is how long the on-demand mode will continue to cook the herb via residual heat once it turns off. I'd love to be able to leave the stem in there and just press the button when I'm ready for another hit, but I'm not sure how wasteful this will be.

This is my concern as well and conduction based vapes are the worst for this.

In my experience it doesn't really matter, comparing on demand TM2 and on demand FW9 for example, one convection and one conduction, you can still cut power to the heater and clear fully (just might take some skill for some people to learn the timing)

I was excited about the on demand feature until I found that the temp doesn't go down into the low 200's F. You have to choose from presets for on demand. Also, by the time you spend 15 seconds breaking the code to turn the vaporizer on everytime you want to take an "on demand" hit, is it really on demand? Or am I missing something here? I was ready to buy but I'm not so sure now. I'd love a true on demand that I can hit at low temps if wanted around my house.

If it is true on demand with near instant heat up and mostly convection, it makes sense for the temp settings in that mode to change to the five presets, since temp can vary so much with this style of vape (most others don't have digital read outs at all) I also like to milk low settings so I would just use the lowest preset temps for on demand mode myself and see how it goes, as it is all relative... And I don't think you would have to do the 5 tap turn on again unless it timed out in between hits??? Yeah hopefully they can adjust that in the next batch or so though

I'd love it if they'd put on demand in the smaller air version. Lol. It could be straight on demand and I'd be happy. I simply have a need for a small device like that and I have a heart for Arizer vapes. The og Air was my first ever. Kinda like your first love....

Haha yeah I have settled in with others that provide the feature I want like that, but it's great if this S3 can do it well too... I'm not sure we will see the same upgrades for an Air anytime soon, even with a larger battery, I'm not sure they will be able to make it work, they might need the full dual battery (21700 larger than the old 18650 too) to make it truly on demand and quick with full hits

Oh and in case anyone else also wants to order a Solo 3, I used the code 'TVG20' on the official Arizer website to get a 20% discount. Code belongs to Vape Guy, and I found it here: https://vapeguy.com/reviews/arizer-solo-3-review/
That's the code I just used for 275 shipped! I've had and OG Solo with Ed's tnt Blackwood Stem when the came out back in the day YO! I have currently a Solo 2 I rock at break on work with the tm2 and venty next to it if that's says anything about where Arizer stands with me! I've had the Air and Air 2 also! they are tanks! All their vapes! Personally for me this takes a sort of nostalgic spin for me! Plus :2c: from the vids out there now, once that reaches temp, a slow slow slow steady draw will billow the clouds! For the heat to get hot that fast, a strong draw would just cool it down at the beginning, a slow draw to soak that bitch first, then the second draw ride that fuker!! :science:Can't wait gang!👽

The on demand presets can’t be changed but start at 180c 190c 200c 210c 220c can set them to last from 5-25 seconds. Shown in the vape guy video.

Oh, so you can control the length of the hit, do you not have to hold the button down then? Does it fully shut off afterward requiring you to turn it back on completely for each hit?? (just don't feel like watching the full video lol so thanks in advance)

I have the same questions. I want to believe that is an auto-shutoff timer that I is paused when you draw from it or even just move the device like most newer vapes.

I think it goes into standby after an on demand hit and you can press a button and it will heatup and do another timer for another hit. It likely does eventually turn off off but idk when

I have fallen back in love with Arizer portables after i aquired a Arizer Air SE at a very reasonable price.

This has my attention. However i dont do built in batteries as a rule, so i am probably going to be looking at the Air 3.

I am not optimistic about how well the on demand mode will work. As this is a conduction leaning hybrid, conduction is generally not good for restarting a bowl half way. Its always overcooked, and tasting like poo. We shall see.
Arizer say 80% convection and 20% conduction on the new model and the videos show no issues with the on demand feature.
Try being positive.

Of course, but to be fair, they have always claimed Solo was convection, when many of us here disagreed (though my mind is open)

A glass stem surrounded on 3 sides by a metal oven, transmitting conduction heat on all 3 sides. The convection element comes from air passing through the oven, with a relatively low surface area. I just cant see it.

I am a convection snob. Having said that, i am surprised how much i am enjoying the Air SE. My guess is that is 60/40 conduction / convection.

Apart from the deeper oven on the solo 3, is there anything else going on to preheat the air?

Try being positive.

I live in the UK, its not stopped raining for 6months.

I think especially with the recent models, they can be considered more hybrid than one or the other per se, probably part of why I want to grab one again... Also they were always top-tier for session conduction, thanks to the glass stems as fully cleanable chamber and pathway that is also modular with plenty of connectivity... However we do not yet know what is especially different about this model, with the on-demand feature, and supposed claims of more convection, you would think that the heater has been upgraded in some fashion? Although the design is clearly largely the same, it does seem apparent that there is quite a bit more power here now?? Hope!

If you continue inhaling for a bit after the end of the heating cycle it should cool down the over and glass significantly.

I like this idea. Good call.

I hope i am not sounding too negative. To be honest a new Arizer portable is probably on the horizon. I prefer the form factor of the Air, and am looking forward to the Air 3. The Air max with the werid sized battery did not temp me.

lol makes me wonder if you missed my initial reply to you where I explained this technique originally... I actually replied twice to get that point across (it is also one learned from the original solo when turning it off, which made it easier to learn on demand style later on perhaps, always clear heat) :D

Yeah skepticism is good, it's all in how you frame it, and perspective how it is taken... Right they did change the battery in the Air and it is larger but it is not a 21700? I'm curious if a single 21700 would be enough to give an Air3 these same features, I mean with other high-powered on-demand convection portables we know a single 18650 is enough, but Arizer has relied on a weaker cell in the past for some reason...

Haha i did miss your point, if i am ever in the position of not wanting to finish a stem i will give it a try (bound to happen one day).

The air max is a 26650. I have loads of 18650s, i have a few 21700s. I did not want a third battery in the mix.

lol then to be further clear, it doesn't matter if you are finishing the stem or not... I clear every single hit like this (on demand you would typically let go of the button and keep inhaling, cut the power, as I said), which is why I have issues with session style vapes, you cannot fully clear the hit, the vapor and the heat, unless you turn off the device (or remove the stem as you finish the inhale)

Yes, I would sacrifice battery life for a smaller unit. This thing is huge!
