Cheap High Quality Bubbler

While that rig might be great, I dislike any “action” videos that don’t include some type of herb as a load in the bowl. Lots of rigs show incredible bubbles etc., when there is NO resistance at all. You can test this using whatever rigs you currently own. Just beware of this as you shop. I learned the hard way… $$$.

My Swiss cheese ash catcher came I. Today and functionally I like it better than expected. The weight makes it kind of uncomfortable with pieces that are taller rather than wider.

The stem with the f joint is a bit skewed for the rest seem decently made.

Looks nice also
That's a lot of swiss cheese...and now I'm hungry.

This is how my klein hits, it has way more cooled vapor than my mega globe and wayyy more taste. Nothing else I can really test it unless I want to try my 23 inch tall bong dual from freezepipe :D lmao... im a moron for buying those. ughhhh, i could have gotten a flowerpot :(

edit ;; my klein seems taller than the pic above. i got these 3 months before I started vaping ; ;
I decided to lower the water level to being a little above the perc, it seems to gives a much nicer taste.

I know some people like running glass stems over a bubbler, why would someone want that? just the flavor on low temps?

I see troy's fab egg style, like the guy aboves barely has any water in that tall thing, like my klein, with a bit of water can burst huge bubbles but less air to travel compared to barely any water and more air to travel....? also, what about a long plastic whip hose on a bubbler vs a stem?

Yeah, I pretty much always start off with as little water as possible, then I might add more later for fun, but minimal diffusion is often preferable for me... That's what I was talking about, if it's shower head style and the holes or slits are facing down, you have the ability to load less water, as opposed to fountain style where they are facing up (like yours)

I know some people like running glass stems over a bubbler, why would someone want that? just the flavor on low temps?

Exactly flavor and low temps, but also portability, simpler, less lost, hassles of using water and larger pieces... The in between would be using a dry glass piece, there are some dedicated ones, but you can also just use a piece without any water, eggs are great for that as are swiss holes for extra pathway obstruction... A nice J hook is a really great balance, to catch the particles, and cool the vapor, and a smaller form factor more mobile and less maintenance than using water... Of course all this depends on the vaporizers being used as well (preferable with top tier vapor quality)

I see troy's fab egg style, like the guy aboves barely has any water in that tall thing, like my klein, with a bit of water can burst huge bubbles but less air to travel compared to barely any water and more air to travel....?

I'm not sure exactly what you are saying here, but yes Troy has the original CCG version that is now only available from CaliBear or there is a DHgate shop that sells them for like twice the price in full color only

also, what about a long plastic whip hose on a bubbler vs a stem?

What about it? I wouldn't use plastic anything... Cured silicone whips are fine and there can be nice mouthpieces for them like from the Rogue waxworks, there is a variety of pros and cons, I hardly use them even though I have some nice ones that work well with my modular pieces

Hi,

It is not too much cooling ? What is the + with this piece ?

I haven't used a precooler or ashcatcher before so I can't compare to any other. I have used it with two vapes I enjoy a lot through water, my Anvil and my Herborizer. The effects are most noticeable in my Anvil, probably because it creates a lot of vapor in one burst. I have the idea that because of the collection of that thick Anvil vapor before entering the water it results in a bit more powerful vapor flow, as if it's a kind of kickstarter. With the Herbo however, which I use at lower temps and less dense hits, and which contrary to Anvil has an open airflow, the results are a bit of extra restriction.

I like it more in my Herbo than in my Anvil, because Anvil performance was already right where I want it, but Herbo could use just that tiny bit of restriction without needing a dedicated water piece. It's not a night and day difference though and I've only used it for a bit so I might be off with my first impressions and "bro" science explanation :)

Oh and I forget though I like the effects it's impractical af with Herbo

How sensitive is that water pipe to using it at an angle versus perfectly straight?

If you were to lean back on a couch with it, would it splash back or fail to fire with the whole diffuser?

Thanks

Yeah this is the one I mentioned yesterday and then said:
Ah, the straight fab isn't ideal for leaning back haha.

I guess one could make it work by adding just the right amount of water to keep the perc going and prevent splashing, but I'll never do that. In your scenario something like the piece @Shit Snacks posted with the blue elements is the nicest imo, because the perc suffers minimally from the skewed position you're holding the piece. Can also add a mp the works best with your couch style vaping. But that piece is expensive to get to NL unfortunately and it has a heavy base which would bother me. That's why my choice would be tue Sky Glass one. They do custom as well so I'd ask what it'd cost to make the mp modular like this piece of theirs:

SkyRig1_2048x.jpg

But I also saw this video where the mp seems less bad than I thought (more curvy):

Could anyone tell me if a hammerhead style perc would be easy to draw through? Trying to find a fairly free flowing piece to use with my Xmax v3 while traveling.

Such thing as too much cooling?!?

The positives are the extra glass obstructions and smaller vapor path volume, to provide more cooling with less flavor loss

Haha yeah that Gili jelly joker has such a tall joint, try using it with your dropdown as well? Probably need a few of them though lol

I don't do this with like any of my pieces, it always changes the way the perk fires if you are leaning it at an angle, and I don't find it comfortable to lean back on the couch for taking a hit, either way I'm going to have to lean forward to put the things back on the table and clear etc and it's only for a short burst of time then I can lean back again afterwards... But yeah having modular piece with different mouthpieces and adapters helps keep something on the table and be comfortably on the couch but I still have to leave forward a bit for that hit...

I actually really don't like the perc they chose, more for smoking, maybe not as bad as a matrix, but it is a super slitted tiny circ perc shower head, kind of reminds me of the FC mod devastator one that I'm not such a fan of, they just offer too much diffusion relative to the piece for me?

I have just seen that :

Available at LCV but expensive

I always wanted to try one of these, almost got the chance, but overall they just seem tedious, you have to keep it in the freezer and then you get a certain amount of time with it and have to put it back, but the other problem is the long spiral vapor path does not work with a lot of vapes, and you're probably going to have a lot more of vapor sticking in there and condensing the way the moisture is condensing from the frozen parts as well?? I don't know I still want to try it, but I never want to spend the money on it, after all my research lol

Can you share a photo? What is a hammerhead style perk exactly?? Are you asking about a hammer bubbler, with what perk? Or are you talking about a perk that looks like a hammer with either end of it slitted? Like this is hammerhead perc:

Oh okay cool, good enough that I can tell it is exactly what I was thinking of, similar to the one I linked above! I don't know anyone here that has really posted about testing that style before, I don't see why it wouldn't work well, I say you grab it and report back for us!

Ahh fine I didn't want to buy anymore pieces that don't work haha.

I did find this Cheap $20 Piece on Ebay that I thought was kind of cool. Probably too much diffusion tho

Haha I do think it would work well though, this $20 one you linked, I think would not work well at all haha way too many stacked perks in two short of a body, it won't function properly, the bottom ones wouldn't fire, and then it would get water in your mouth likely

I was referring to that stellar piece of theirs with the downstem (the showerhead was to show how Sky also do modular mp.)

This is their stellar which I also like as a couch piece because of the lack of a base:

Do you think this inline diffuser would be better Inline diffuser over the hammerhead style?

Oh I see, just with a modular mouth, yeah it's nice, but no base? Could be more prone to getting knocked over... Also it's a shame they don't have a holey downstem, just basic slits, not sure if that would work as well really based on my past experience with them...

Oh, that one looks great, but it depends what you want, I feel like the hammerhead one is going to give you more diffusion (with more, smaller bubbles), this one should have more flavor retention (with fewer, larger bubbles)

My biggest concern is being able to pull through it freely with my V3 Xmax attached to it. Since it'll only be used with that vape while I travel. I tried a disc perc and that was a major no go lol. I'm not a big fan of super chuggy percs.
