I'm not sure if you know how small and well regarded the Alfa is. The GH, when it's widely available, will usurp it as the stealth king, but the Alfa is actually smaller than the Pax 2.

Thanks Doc,
I can see what you are saying and am somewhat aware of the alpha's ability.

The Pax 2, in my opinion, is much more stealthy than the alpha. It is slimmer and looks less suspicious. Perhaps I just enjoy the form-factor better (e.g. Slimmer and longer).
With its flush mouthpiece and no button design, it could easily be passed off as a mini powerbank (looks like one my girlfriend has), or possibly as an old school mp3 player.
I would much rather have to explain a Pax2, to a figure of authority, rather than an Alpha.

I have an Indica, however I have never liked the performance. I gave up on it some time ago and am looking for a stealthy unit to fill the void.
Grasshopper or pax2 are my best bets now and perhaps the vapir prima.

It looks to be mostly conduction since it doesn't seem to have much of a heated airpath (so no "hot air").

In the world of portable units, this one looks surprisingly well designed. I especially like the completely removable SS airpath. VERY nice feature. SS is very safe, very cleanable (just drop it in ISO), and non-reactive. It will also help cool the vapor. Looking at the design, it seems someone out there could create a glass replacement for the glass lovers.

The bowl looks enormous - maybe 2-3 times bigger than the NO2. If it can vape that much evenly and without stirring (like the NO2 and Rise), it's a big bonus.

It also appears to be able to do concentrates - and that would be a first for Vapir (the NO2 would get clogged, and the Rise just isn't hot enough). So that also means (hopefully) that the bowl would not leak concentrate onto the heater. It'll be interesting to see how well it actually handles it since, as we all know, a lot of "herb" vapes say that can do concentrates, but rarely do it well.

The airpath brush also acting as a cover is a neat idea.

4 temps - 350, 365, 380, 390 (IMHO, 390 doesn't seem not high enough for concentrates)
(last in the vid he said setting 3 was "385")

He used CDB oil in the vid, not sure if that has a lower vape temp, but it seems low for wax or shatter.

The biggest con I see is that it's not very discrete - I don't know what it looks like, but it's not a pen or a phone or a flask - it looks like a vape with big buttons and bright led's. Certainly small enough for your pocket, but not something you'd likely whip out in public (at least in most states). Overall, it's not that stylish compared to, let's say, the Pax 2.

I'd have to see more reviews before I'd shell out $259, and to be perfectly honest, it "feels" like it's overpriced. Before I knew the price, based on the pics and review, I was thinking $175.
It looka like onw of thosw portable usb phone dharges

Well I have the Prima for a few weeks now and I can safely say that the Prima is a great vaporizer. I really like the build quality and it feels very solid and reliable with the smooth anodized aluminum body and all of the components fit snugly and securely. I am really confident that this vape will last a long time and I don't really see any issues or any parts that may wear out or become an issue down the road and it looks like most of the components can be replaced if something should break or get lost like the cap or the mouthpiece for example. Vapir has really stepped up the quality with this vape and It really feels good. It loads and hits like a traditional pipe or spoon so I think a lot of people or smokes may like this vape for that reason.

The vapor production is great, super smooth, super tasty and its very efficient. I like to use it on temp 1 and 2 for herb and the abv always comes out the same color and its all thoroughly vaped. You get instant vapor when the unit has reached temp and even on temp 1, you get good visible vapor. I wish there were more temperature settings but I think Vapir has done a good job finding 4 temps that work really good and can offer the user a good variety to meet peoples different preferences. I tend to use the Prima until the auto-shut off kicks in, which is about 6 minutes after you press on and that's plenty of time to completely vape a chamber and get a good number of hits and if its not enough just hit the power button when the lights are flashing to extend your session by another 2 minutes.

This is definitely a conduction vape with convection heat as well so you don't have to pack the chamber tight like you do with other, full conduction vapes which is really nice so you can use smaller amounts of herb if you want, thanks to the added convection heat and/or you can put another steel pad in the chamber to take up some extra space as well for smaller loads. The chamber size is really nice and it can fit plenty of herb and there is no need to stir.

So far maintenance is pretty minimal and all I do is brush out the chamber and the cap and you will be good to go for a long time until the unit needs a deep clean and then you just can take out the SS vapor path and soak the cap and that's it, so it's very easy to keep clean.

So far on temp 1, I have got 8-10 full chamber loads on one charge at 6 minutes each so your looking at about 60 minutes of total battery life which is really good considering its small size. It takes about 2-3 hours to fully charge the battery and it can be hooked up to an AC outlet or any usb port. Unfortunaly there is not the option to use the unit whiles its charging but its does look like Vapir will be releasing an AC adapter so you can use the Prima at home, plugged in. They will also be releasing a water pipe adapter and a water pipe/hydro tube which looks amazing and I will post that if I get a chance to try one.

The Prima is definitely worth checking out and I really recommend this vape to anyone who is looking for a solid portable vape that will do it all at home and on the go. People have been comparing the Prima to the Vapium Summit which looks very similar in shape and style and I have also used/owned the Summit but I think the Prima takes the cake overall. It has a better, higher quality feel to it, it has a removable battery, does concentrates and dry herbs, removable vapor path and you don't need to pack the chamber as tight as the Summit if you don't want to. The Prima doesn't have as many temperature settings as the summit and its a pinch bigger and heavier.

I will be adding more photos and information soon.

1 battery and no usb charger...hmm 259$ is high

The Prima comes with a USB Charger. The battery is charged in a dock, off of the vaporizer unit and it connects to a USB port or the included AC adapter. It looks like they will also be releasing a AC power adapter for the Prima so you can plug the vape in directly and use it without the battery at home.

I want one to go along with my Air. I :love:my VapirRise , and the Prima seems well built. 5 years warranty on unit and 2 years on battery partly make up for the price, but I do expect the performance to be stellar. 340$ CAD is a lot of money, so I won't pre-order. On the other hand, I just sold two glass pieces for around that... decisions, decisions! :uhoh:

Has anyone got the selfie applet to work in the giveaway link? I tried with Chrome and Edge many times to no avail. Winning one would be quite a thrill!

I wonder how this vape will compare to a crafty and other portables. I am in the market for a portable. I enjoy Vapir products as they are good quality and reasonably priced. My biggest issue with this prima is the fact there are only 4 heat settings and you cannot specifically set your temperature. My next concern is whether or not their is draw resistance like seen in the Arizer Air.

I will try to compare the Prima to the Crafty but they are both quite different animals. The Prima definitely comes out on top in many ways over the Crafty, like the fact that it has a removable battery, has a longer battery life, its easier to clean, its slightly smaller, the construction seems more reliable with the aluminum body but the Crafty does have some great features like a full range of temperatures, full convection heat, weighs less, vibration alarm, doesn't get as hot to the touch etc. Both vapes are from great companies that have been around since the beginning of vaporizers pretty much and they both offer great customer service and a wide range of products.

Which vape would I pick if I had to choose one? I don't know, I like them both for different reasons like what I mentioned above so it depends on what your looking for and what you want in a portable vaporizer. If you don't need/want a full temperature control but do want a longer battery life with the ability to remove and replace the battery, then I would choose the Prima. A removable battery is a huge plus and for the price Storz and Bickel should have offered that on the Crafty and the Prima has that and its cheaper!

When it comes down to temperatures, I usually don't mess around to much, I just find a temp that works good and pretty much stick to it but it is nice to have the ability to fine tune your extraction. I think Vapir did a good job finding 4 temps that all work good and they give the user a good range to suit different preferences from a lighter vapor with less affect to thick vapor and a heavy affect, however I do wish that the lowest temperature was a little bit lower. The 4 temps are: 1) 350-360f, 2) 365-375f, 3) 380-390f and 4) 390-400f

If you the absolute best quality vapor from a portable then IMO, the Crafty and Mighty cannot be beat but the Prima produces great tasting vapor that is smooth and potent without any off taste to it and I think it may be slightly cooler too because its not full convection heat. I would say that the Crafty and the Prima have about the same draw resistance which isn't too hard/tight to draw but its not completely airy and resistance free like the Inhalater Vaporizers.

The Prima defiantly feels/holds/hits more like a traditional pipe or spoon, so if your someone who likes that style or feeling then the Prima may be a better fit.

Another thing to consider is the shut-off timer which is 1 minute with the Crafty unless your inhaling and its about 5-6 minutes with the Prima. Both auto-shut-offs can be canceled so the unit will stay on and with the Prima you just double tap the on/off button and it will continue to go another 2 minutes and with the Crafty you have to hit the on/off button to keep it going another minute or inhale and the sensor will know and it will keep the unit on.

The Prima uses mostly conduction heat with some convection so if you leave the unit on without taking any draws then your herb will still be mostly vaped but with the Crafty which is mostly convection, you can leave it on without hitting it and your herb will still be mostly fresh/ unvaped. With conduction, its better to pack the chamber on the tighter side and its the opposite with convection. I have noticed that the Prima works great either way which is a huge plus so you don't need to fill the chamber to get some good vapor.

Both vapes can do concentrates and they both use the same type of steel pad as a medium for the concentrate and they both vape concentrates well. Prima's max temp is 390-400f and the Crafty is slightly higher at 410f. The Prima's chamber is slighty smaller than the Crafty and they are both nice sizes but the Crafty is slightly easier to load and unload thanks to the ingenious filling aid and it helps having a wider chamber.

Also, The Prima heats up faster, about twice as fast as the Crafty, around 30-45 seconds.

Hope this helps a little, let me know if you want to hear more about the Prima or the Crafty. I will be posting more about the Prima as I continue to test it and I took it on a long hike today and it was a great, no complaints. I will have more photos soon.........

Thanks for that reply. I do appreciate it.

Now I guess I just need to demo one myself to decide if I want lol.

I own a Vapir rise 2.0. Great machine. I usually vape around 188-190C. If I can get about the same temperature off the prima with the same desired results I may just make the leap lol

As long as it doesn't hit like the air or the pax 1 I shouldn't have an issue.

The Chamber can easily hold about .4 depending on the dryness of the herb. That amount could be a tight pack though - you can pack less and still expect a good ten+ puffs of visible vapor!

I like around .2 I guess that would make it half full chamber too big

If you're unhappy with the draw resistance in the Air, you can solve that problem with a PVHES stem from Planetvape.ca, a FC sponsor.

For the $100 additional that the Prima costs you could get several PVHES stems and, more importantly, you are not getting a new, untested (at the very least Air has been out for close to a year) vape.

If you really want a Prima, wait until the bugs are out. As an early adopter of the Ascent, I can tell you Sending a vape back and fourth is no fun.

Hhhmmm, I tend to disagree.
I have the solo with PVHES stems. I have a straight, bent and straight with bored hole (one requiring the screen).
It was also my main portable for 1 year.

I moved to the crafty, now that is unrestricted!!! Along with better vapor quality (after the first 2 draws on the solo, it goes downhill very quickly).
I still like it, but I would happily pay the extra $$ instead of using my solo with PVHES.

Don't know what the Prima is like.
I guess it does come down to personal preference and budget.

I have a Prima on its way and am very excited! The release came ar just the right time, I was eyeing a Crafty / Mighty for the awesome vapor quality but had my reservations due to the amount of tines I've read people needing to send it back to Germany for updates / repair.

I'll likely still pull the trigger on the mighty too, the vapor quality is just too damn good!

Thanks for the video. Not sure if I'm sold. It reminds me too much of a pax 1 and I did not enjoy hitting that vape. I may pass on this. Crafty may still be the better alternative.

I got mine coming via good ole VaporNation. If I have to wait 2-3 weeks for a vape, might as well go with what seems to be the vape of 2015 by most the reviews I read.

Which reviews? I haven't seen that much hype yet for the Prima. I can think of at least two upcoming vapes that are getting a lot of buzz right now.

Vaporizer Wizard doesn't have a review for it on their site. Are you sure that was one? The only one I know of is from Vaporizer Review. That one does make it look pretty intriguing, though.

Which two?

I was thinking of the Grasshopper, which I think is an obvious one albeit with an unclear release date, and the Zion.
