While I agree its not a good strategy it sure is a laugh reading the people getting so worked up over what is just a vaporizer at the end of the day.. the same people everytime saying their going to boycott it. They said that months ago yet are still on FB whining. I think its for their own amusemement more than anything

Terible marketing on their customer support. I bet they would give the same amount of atention to customers sending back broken devices to china or anny other customer support. Most vape shops answer within 24 hrs even doh they dont have anny new info on the vape....

Yuuuup. On the plus side, news of the Ascent brought me to this forum months ago, which in turn pointed me to the Solo, PVHES stems, 14- and 18-mm water pipe adapters for the infamous bubbler and the pinnacle WT, and silicon tubing. The longer they delayed, the more accessories for the Solo I bought.

Now I'm debating getting the Solo PA and that 3D-printed Solo PA base/stand thing. If they delay much longer, I'll be far too invested in the Solo to bother with the Ascent.

You out there DV? It's been over three weeks since we heard from you...are we on track for a 2013 release?

I like the 3D solo stand and the PA stand that was made for me as a prototype which I use daily. I would believe he has corrected it's one minor flaw. It is more rounded so it is easy to hold. You can also see all the lights. If I have the heavy stem and chillum on top I unusually still lay it down as the material by nature is light. Don't worry Sam you are well on your way to VAS lmao . I would be other companies are using what they have learned from this thread and are well on there way to the new best thing coming x-mas as well.

Well...every other release date for the last 4 months has been gibberish, so this is probably the perfect thread for another...

Oh, for sure. I've done this before with laptops...save several months for a particular model, then just as I'm ready to buy something even better comes out. Win-win: no debt, and a better device.

I know it sounds like I'm obsessing over this, but I'm really not. I could give a rats ass if the contest is never honored or the DV never ships. It's just that with my lifelong work in the sales/advertising/marketing arena, stupid-ass business practices like this, for some odd reason, kinda drives me up a wall. LOL. You should see what happens when I encounter a salesperson who doesn't know how to sell.

On the flip side, I'll sing the praises of those businesses that do it right, like Randy at PuffitUP or Steve over at SteelConcepts, or Tom over at PD, before he kinda went off the deep end, or the great experiences I had with VapeWorld, etc, 'cause ya know, when things are done right, people outta get the praises for a job well done.
